Why You’ve failed 😑 in the past and reluctant to try making a change again

Most diet 🥘 and exercise plans 📝are too strict and unrealistic

Most plans don’t take into account your life; that you have kids 👧 responsibilities, a family, work dinners and an overall busy schedule📅

The truth is, you simply don't have the time to go to the gym 5️⃣days a week, count your calories, and eat ‘perfectly’.Not when you're running around doing other people errands, packing school lunches, or reading bedtime stories 📚

Traditional diets can ruin your energy levels ❌

Maybe you are pushing it on all fronts with work and/or your family. Dieting on too low calories, doing diets that are overly restrictive, or diets that cut out entire food groups sap you of energy, both mentally and physically.

You need this energy 🔥 it's no use keeping on cutting the calories.

Traditional diets actually add stress 🤯
This kind of dieting behavior only adds more (unnecessary) mental stress to an already busy life and can make your people pleasing worse. the last thing you need is another obsession to add to your life.

Diets often work against your body

When we diet too hard, our stress hormones go through the roof ↗️
This is bad for body composition as it means less fat burning and more fat storage, specifically around our stomachs.

Not only that but our cravings for sweets and carbs skyrocket, our sleep is affected, our ability to tolerate stress and adversity falls, and we become fearful, moody and indecisive.

So the answer is neither…🗑️

How to use a healthy habit tracker

Using a healthy habit tracker can be a useful tool for monitoring your progress and staying accountable.

Here‘s how I teach clients :
Determine your goals: Identify the healthy habits you want to track. These could include exercise 🚴 , nutrition 🥘 ,sleep 🛌 , mindfulness, water 💦 intake, or any other habits that align with your wellness goals.

Choose a tracking method: Decide on the method you prefer for tracking your habits. You can use a physical journal, a habit tracker template, a digital spreadsheet, or a habit tracking app. Select the one that suits your preference and is easily accessible to you.

Track daily or weekly 📅 : Decide whether you want to track your habits on a daily or weekly basis. Daily tracking provides more detailed information, while weekly tracking gives you an overview of your habits throughout the week.

Be consistent and honest ✅ : Fill in your tracker honestly and accurately. It's essential to record both successful and missed habits to identify patterns and areas for improvement.

Review and reflect 💭 : Regularly review your habit tracker to assess your progress. Look for patterns, trends, and areas where you might need to make adjustments. Celebrate your successes and identify any challenges or obstacles that you encountered.

Adjust and adapt 💥 Based on your observations from the habit tracker, make necessary adjustments to your habits or goals. If you notice consistent missed habits, consider modifying your approach or seeking additional support.

Remember, a habit tracker is only effective if you use it consistently and honestly. Make it a part of your routine, and it will help you stay on track and achieve your healthy lifestyle goals.

Getting back into fitness is a great goal! Here are some steps you can take to get started.

1️⃣Set clear goals: Define what you want to achieve through fitness. Whether it's losing weight ⚖️ building strength, 💪🏼 increasing endurance, or improving overall health, having specific goals will help you stay motivated.

2️⃣Start gradually: If you've been away from fitness for a while, it's important to ease back into it to avoid injury or burnout 🔥.Begin with moderate-intensity activities that you enjoy, such as brisk walking, cycling 🚴‍♀️ or swimming 🏊‍♀️ Start with shorter durations ⏲️ and gradually increase the time and intensity.

3️⃣Create a schedule: 📅 Plan your workouts in advance and set aside dedicated time for exercise. Treat it as a non-negotiable appointment with yourself. Consistency is key 🔑 to seeing progress.

4️⃣Find activities you enjoy: 😆 Engage in activities that you find enjoyable, as it increases the likelihood of sticking with them long-term. Experiment with different types of exercises like yoga 🧘‍♀️ weightlifting 🏋️‍♀️ dance 🪩 or team sports until you find what you like.

5️⃣Get a workout buddy or personal trainer: Working out with a friend or joining a fitness group can add motivation and make exercise more enjoyable. It provides accountability and creates a social aspect to your fitness routine.

All about BALANCE ⚖️

I’m the first 🙎‍♀️to admit I can go from being super organised to an emotional and dysfunctional wreck in a very short amount of time. My husband can attest to this.

What I've learnt is that it's 👌🏼 . We aren’t robots.

Summer 🌞 is a very busy time. A Lot of people go away the weather is usually much nicer, classes might not be on due to holidays and that cold glass of whispering angel is always waiting for you on a friday eve 🍷

But this summer, choose to forgive yourself when you forget the milk at the shop, to put the washing out and have to rewash it 4 times so it doesn’t smell funny.

But at the same time be kind to yourself by not setting yourself up for failure 🤗 Take that extra 10 minutes at the end of the day to pre pack any bags you’ll need for the zoo trip tomorrow. Wash all water bottles after a long day at the beach 🏖 so it's not all makny the next time you go to use it. 

Plan more walks with friends for an evening (when love island is finally over) instead of melting into the sofa.

I guess it’s just about being kind to yourself this summer. Make healthier choices and don’t become an emotional wreck when you arrive at the park with no sun cream for your 18 month old and carry on berating yourself for the week to follow.

Ok guys, hear 👂me out, we’ve all been here. 
It’s wednesday night, the day has been absolute chaos for one reason or another, and then next minute you know it’s bed time and you’ve barely eaten all day and are starving!

Do you 🅰️ Have a good concept of foods to keep in the fridge or cupboard for emergency meals ⁉️🤔

Or do you 🅱️Make a crisp sandwich? ⁉️🤔

Of course B because i’ve only just made this post 🤣🙋‍♀️No excuses now though.

This is not ❌a shaming post, I've asked permission from this EXTREMELY busy lady to share as a bit of an example.

Life is hard. Kids, work, friends take priority most of the time I know, but having just a few simple items in your kitchen stock is really going to help if you’re trying to reach a goal this summer 🌞

Think protein, carbs fat and water when you reach for that grab snack or meal. You will thank yourself later!

It’s not just losing weight that people hire a personal trainer for, there are so many other reasons 💜

Cancer recovery and rehabilitation is so important. I can’t tell you how amazed I am by the clients who have been through rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy they are so open with the vulnerabilities they go through getting back into training 💙

Busy, busy, busy. Tired, tired, tired. I hear you, I hear you all.

Time management is key 🔑 when wanting to change to a healthier lifestyle. But often we only need to look at a few things to see where we can add in healthier habits.
A new 👧 of mine was running on steam not knowing where to start and on little sleep. The ☝️ thing we did was break down her day into sections and found a small 20 minute gap usually spent faffing before cooking 🍳 for the family.

Guess what her first goal was? No, not complete 400 burpees before we saw each other next 
It was to go for a 10 minute walk at least 4 nights in that 20 minute lull before the evening started. No this isn't going to lose her the stone she wants to get rid of but what it will do is replace a negative habit with a healthier one (more on habits another day).

What I’m trying to say is that a PT isn’t just there to talk about your diet and count your reps

We talk about and listen to everything, because one of the most random things our clients talk about during our sessions could be the key to unlocking their goals.

We listen and observe to learn how your brain thinks and how it works, so we can coach you towards kicking you negative habits and replacing them with positive ones.

What’s the craziest conversation you’ve overheard? 🤔
