**SUNDAY SESSIONS ARE CURRENTLY FULL**

Wow! It was fantastic to see so many local children diving in to our Impact sessions at Howden Ashes with Greg and Sarah last Sunday, and lots of new faces to come this coming Sunday.

We’ve had such a lot of interest in Impact’s UEFA level coaching that the sessions are at capacity for now. However if your child is keen to join the fun just send us a direct message through this page with your email address, mobile number, child’s name and DOB and we’ll add you to our waiting list and notify you as soon as a space becomes free.

Alternatively, if you are interested to see what all the excitement is about feel free to pass by and watch some of the sessions from 14.15 to 15.15 on Sundays (not including 1 November), though we ask that anyone coming along to watch please observe social distancing as per HM Government guidelines.

SoccerTots is back!

After an extended break due to the pandemic and restrictions on training, we are pleased to announce new sessions on Sunday afternoons for children aged 2 to 6, starting outside in Howden this Sunday 18 October at 14.45 and initially lasting half an hour.

The sessions will delivered by Impact Football Schools and their UEFA qualified coaching team, with an emphasis on developing not only skills but also a love of the game - and, most importantly, having fun!

All sessions have been thoroughly risk assessed and COVID safety measures will be in place.

Booking is essential so, whether your child is the next Harry Kane / Lucy Bronze or would simply like to have fun and exercise safely with other children, just send us a message with your child's name, DOB and your contact information and we will send more details.

Hello from all at SoccerTots!

We hope you are all keeping safe and well. We just wanted to write to provide an update on Howden AFC’s SoccerTots during this strangest of periods to all of our SoccerTots’ parents, old and new.

Throughout this period, our foremost concern has been the safety of the children that attend SoccerTots. We are conscious that ‘social distancing’ is a difficult concept for even older children to stick to. Although restrictions have been relaxed and our older age groups at Howden AFC have re-started training under very strict safety guidelines, we felt it was unfair to expect our 3 to 5 year olds to ignore their natural instincts when playing games at SoccerTots with their friends. Our emphasis has always been on fun.

However, we are now looking ahead to when the pandemic restrictions will be relaxed further and our SoccerTots can get back to kicking a football around.

With this in mind, we’d like now to share with you some exciting changes with Howden AFC’s SoccerTots ...

Howden AFC has agreed to partner with Impact Football Schools, run by Greg Beswick and Sarah Murray, to provide our SoccerTots sessions.

Greg is a UEFA qualified coach and delivers coaching classes for children 2 to 11 years old designed to develop technical, physical and tactical attributes alongside innovative thinking and positive behaviour all whilst having the same fun they are used to. We are very lucky to have access to Greg and Sarah, we think the children will both enjoy and see huge benefits from the new partnership. For our older SoccerTots, the idea remains that in the school year in which they turn 6 there will be a seamless transition (probably in the Spring) for those that want it to prepare to become a new team playing league football for Howden AFC the following September, all whilst continuing to enjoy their Impact sessions.

Sessions will continue to be on Sundays, but move to afternoons starting at either 15.00 or 15.30 and taking place at Airmyn village hall. The sessions will be 30 minutes long and cost just £3 to keep in line with our SoccerTots charges, with all sums paid to Impact rather than Howden AFC.

It is hoped that the first session will be on 20 September 2020, but please watch out for further announcements!

Hi all,

We hope this message finds you all safe and well and your budding Harry Kanes and Lucy Bronzes are staying active.

We are aware that several local soccer skills schools for young ages have recently restarted sessions. As a Club Howden AFC takes the safety of our children with the utmost seriousness and the Club is currently undertaking a full risk assessment and putting in place stringent safety measures before sessions at any age group recommence.

We are particularly conscious that social distancing at sessions will be tricky for our youngest children (ie our SoccerTots), and until we feel we can run the sessions safely for them the sessions will remain on hold.

Please do check back here for more updates in due course, but if you do have any questions in the meantime please do let us know.

BREAKING NEWS:
In relation to the latest guidance released yesterday by the FA, we are now planning and assessing how we can bring training sessions back to Howden AFC safely.

We are undertaking a risk assessment and putting the required procedures in place. Your respective coaches will be in touch very soon!

**Covid-19 Update**

Morning all.

I appreciate that this will not come as a surprise to most, but like all other football sessions across the country SoccerTots is postponing all sessions until at least after Easter.

The health and safety of the children and families who attend our sessions are our primary concern.

Please watch for more announcements in due course.

ATTENTION:

All football related activities associated with Howden AFC are suspended until further notice. We are following guidance from The FA and will update in due course. This means all training as well as matches will be postponed for the foreseeable. We will update when more info is available.

Afternoon all.

Another fun session today, with the children starting to learn to try and keep the ball at the same time as heading to an objective; as well as trying to win the ball and then think about a change in their objectives.

I think someone has left the top in the photograph below - I’ll bring it to next week’s session but if you need it earlier than that just send me a PM and I’ll arrange to get it to you.

As you can imagine, we have been keeping an eye on the developing virus situation, but current guidance is that events should go ahead.

In the circumstances, our SoccerTots session is on as normal tomorrow, from 11.15 at Howden School Sports Hall.
