Hi! I’m Mark, a personal trainer at the gym group hove.
I’ve been a PT since 2019. Although these days you’ll typically find me in a gym training clients or myself, I wasn’t always a gym person.
Back in 2017, I was about 120kg; I smoked, drank too much, had a terrible diet, and the last time I had done any exercise was probably PE at school.
I knew that something had to change. It took me about eight attempts to make training stick. I had a bit of an all-or-nothing approach that had failed me one too many times before. Eventually, I clicked that a series of small changes done consistently added to big things over time.
I made a number of mistakes along the way. I fell off the rowing machine more times than I care to think about. I’ve sat the wrong way on machines I didn’t know how to use. And I nearly fainted trying to do my first pull-up.
My experience has helped shape how I work with people today. I understand what it’s like to start from scratch and the steps needed to build your confidence in the gym.
I know firsthand the challenges that come with starting a fitness journey, and I’m here to guide and support you every step of the way.
