One of the biggest shifts I see in Strike Back Self Defence sessions is when women realise they have choices.
Many of us have been brought up to be polite, accommodating, and not cause a fuss.
So when something uncomfortable or threatening happens, the instinct is often to stay quiet, avoid conflict, and hope the situation passes.
But personal safety sometimes requires something different.
It requires recognising that you have the right to remove yourself from a situation you don’t want to remain in.
You have the right to protect your space.
You have the right to use your voice.
You have the right to act in your own safety.
In our sessions we practise simple, practical skills that give women options, even from positions where they might initially feel vulnerable.
And the moment a woman realises she can get herself out of a situation she doesn’t want to be in… the shift in confidence is powerful.
That’s why consistent practice matters.
