A fantastic day of county golf for our Sussex U16s at Gatton Manor as they took on Surrey County Golf Ltd and Hampshire Golf in the final league match of 2026.

The team fought hard throughout the day and showed great resilience to secure 4–4 halved matches against both counties.

This match also marked the final Sussex U16 appearance for six players who now move on to the next stage of their junior golf journey:

* Coby Hall Golf At Goodwood

Congratulations to our Gilbert Print team on their victory over Chartham Park yesterday.

A special mention goes to Tim Silsby and Mark Haggart, who delivered an outstanding performance, winning their match 8&7!

This result sees the team progress to the quarter-finals, where they will face Willingdon on 29th June.

A fine opening round of 69 (-3) from Josh McCartain Golf At Goodwood today at Royal Liverpool in the first round of the strokeplay stage of The Amateur Championship. He sits in tied 3rd position.

Drew Sykes (also Goodwood) is at +2 and Morton Bailey Cowdray Golf who was at West Lancs in Round 1 is at +5.

Round 2 tomorrow. After which the leading 64 players will advance to the Match Play Stage of the Championship which will start on Wednesday.

Our Men’s Scratch Team were on top form on Saturday in the quarter finals of the Sussex County Golf Wellesley Scratch Knockout at D**e Golf Club, Brighton, taking on Bognor Regis Golf Club.

We’re delighted to share the team secured a 8.5-3.5 victory, earning our place in the semi-finals where we’ll face West Sussex on 18th July.

A huge thank you to D**e Golf Club for hosting, to all our caddies and supporters for backing the team throughout the day, and to Bognor for being fantastic opponents.

Bring on the semis 💪

The Amateur Championship

Sussex’s Josh McCartain Golf At Goodwood and Morton Bailey Cowdray Golf have both made it into the field for The R&A Amateur Championship after coming through pre qualifying at West Lancashire Golf Club.

They join Drew Sykes (also Goodwood) in the event. This means we will have 3 Sussex players teeing it up next week at Royal Liverpool and West Lancs when it gets underway on Monday.
