Cowdray are the Champions!

A huge congratulations to Cowdray for winning the 2026 Gilbert Print Plate in the Sussex Finals day. The team, led by Captain Paul Richman, defeated Hollingbury GC 3.5/1.5, played at Littlehampton GC.

More success this weekend at England Golf County Champion of Champions. Our Sussex Amateur Champion Leo Cahi Mannings Heath Golf finished 4th after rounds of 70, 72 finishing just two shots back of the playoff.

Leo won the Boys County Champion of Champions last year and now 4th this year in the Men’s competition - a great achievement Leo! 👏🏼

Well done to our Sussex Boys Champion Ollie Farmer Copthorne Golf Club who finished tied fourth in the England Golf Boys Champion of Champions event on the Woodhall Spa Hotchkin Course with a +2 total over 36 holes.

2026 Sussex Wellesley Scratch Knockout Finals

The 2026 Wellesley Knockout Finals brought a brilliant day of golf to Seaford Golf Club with Royal Eastbourne Golf Club lifting the Trophy and East Brighton Golf Club taking home the Plate.

Played in glorious sunshine, the day saw four teams battle it out for the two titles, with plenty of close golf and some excellent performances across both finals.

In the Trophy Final, Worthing Golf Club and Royal Eastbourne could barely be separated after the morning foursomes, sharing the four matches to head into the afternoon at 2–2.

With everything still to play for in the singles, Royal Eastbourne found the extra points they needed in the afternoon to edge clear and secure a 7–5 victory coming down to the very last match on the 18th, bringing a closely fought final to a successful conclusion.

The Plate Final followed a different pattern, with East Brighton making a flying start against Copthorne Golf Club
East Brighton swept all four morning foursomes matches to take a commanding lead into the afternoon.

Copthorne battled hard in the singles, but East Brighton had already given themselves a strong platform and went on to complete an impressive 8–4 win to claim the Plate.

It was a brilliant day at Seaford Golf Club, with sunshine, competitive golf and four teams and all their supporters giving everything for their clubs. Both finals were played in a great spirit and provided a fitting end to another Wellesley Knockout competition.

A massive thank you to Seaford Golf Club for hosting the finals and looking after everyone so well throughout the day.

𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘅'𝘀 𝗟𝗲𝘅𝗶 𝗗𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻'𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 🏆

Lexi Dart claimed the title in dramatic fashion, birdieing the final hole to finish one shot clear of Cheshire’s Morgan Bollan.

The championship remained finely balanced throughout an enthralling 36-hole contest on Woodhall Spa’s Bracken Course, but Dart held her nerve after rounds of 74 and 75 to finish on +5.
