Congratulations to John O’Hare who last night won his way through to the final of the Renfrewshire Bowling Association Singles competition where he will play Harry Queen of Anchor B.C. on Saturday 18th July at 2pm at Abercorn B.C.

A great achievement getting to the final and hopefully one more win will see John crowned County Singles champion.

Great start for the JGF Over 55 Gents team in their inaugural season in the Paisley Veterans Bowling Association League. We have now reached the half way stage in this League and we are sitting proudly at the top of the table. Still another 7 games to play so we need to keep up our good form in order to remain in the top position and gain promotion to the PVBA League 1.

A fantastic double for the JGF Ladies in the District 25 finals at Charleston B.C. yesterday. After winning the Over 55s Fours in the morning, the JGF ladies were then crowned District 25 Fours champions in the afternoon - well done Fiona Higgins, Liza Bogle, Tracey McGhee and Phyllis Clark - a superb achievement. Very best of luck when you get to Northfield.

Another great day at JGF with 30 Gents competing for the Nominated Triples and the prestigious Whiteford Cup. On conclusion of the Section stage the 2 teams making it thru to the final were Jim McBride, Kenny Clark and Gerry McAllister who were up against Neil Conroy, Kenny Roberts and John Gilchrist. In a thrilling final where the lead changed hands several times - the 2026 Gents Nominated Triples winners were Neil Conroy, Kenny Roberts and John Gilchrist who will now go on to represent JGF in the 2026 District Champion of Champions and the 2027 Bowls Scotland National Triples.

J.G.Fleming were delighted to host the inaugural Renshaw Junior Singles competition on Sunday 7th June which was played in a round robin format comprising 2 sections of 4 players. On conclusion of the section stage the 2 players making it through to the final were Paul Danks of Lilybank B.C. and Ryan Kerr of Ralston B.C. After a close fought final the 2026 Renshaw Junior Singles champion is Ryan Kerr.

A big thank you to all 8 players who were a credit to themselves and to their respective clubs.

The ever popular Gents Member plus 2 Guests Triples sponsored by Alan Beaton Funeral Services took place on Saturday 30th May. Thanks to the 20 JGF players and their guests from across the West of Scotland for supporting this competition.

On completion of the round robin stage the 4 Section winners were the teams of Alan McGhee, George Bain, Ian McCowan and Gerry McAllister. The semi final winners were George Bain and Ian McCowan.

In a pulsating final which went right down to the last bowl of the game, the 2026 runners up were Ian McFarlane (Renfrew B.C.), Bill Nisbet (Woodlands B.C.) and George Bain (JGF). The 2026 winners were Robert Taylor (Caledonia B.C.), Ian McCowan (JGF) and Graham Pattison (Caledonia B.C.).

Once again a huge thanks to all the bar staff and the JGF Ladies who helped out on the day. And last but certainly not least thanks to Alan Beaton Funeral Services for their continued sponsorship.
