The lads did well in last nights fitness session. We hope the ice poles helped🤣 It was a warm one but they all applied themselves well and I think some of the exercises are starting to click.
🥇Archie picked up player of the session last night. He got stuck into the exercise part of the training, really got stuck in with the 1 on 1 drills and showed his engine by covering the pitch in the game at the end, exactly the level of work & effort we want to see - well done mate. ⚽️

Wednesday nights training session will be at Hetton lakes 6pm - 7pm. Please make sure the las have their shin pads and a drink as we'll be focussing more on the fitness side of training

The lads were back in training last night at Hetton Academy working on passing & movement techniques that they picked up and implemented well. 2 player of the session pint s dished out last night to Carl and Phillip - none stop graft throughout the whole session. Well done lads.⚽️

Tonight the lads were put through their paces in a great fitness session put together by Stan. These extra firness sessions should hopefully help us during the games when the league starts and help the lads through the minutes on the pitch.
Fair play to each one of them tonight, they gave their all and really pushed themselves. Well done to Josh tonight, player of the session - oustanding effort in every part of the session tonight and really pushed himself. Well done mate. No game this weekend. We'll try for a friendly on Monday but if we cant get one we'll have training as normal on pitch 1 at Hetton.

HETTON JUVENTUS (5) vs PETERLEE TOWN (4)
Monday night friendly game against Peterlee Town where the lads managed to shake our nerves again.🤣🤣
Peterlee Town are a really good side and were unlucky not to be promoted from our league last year, they're also a team we have never beaten in the league or in friendly games so this was always going to be a big test for us.
The lads came out of the traps quite quickly and looked for goals early on in the game. The goals did eventually start coming, some pressure work from Travis saw the ball end up at Ollies feet in the box and he made no mistake tucking it away. Travis managed to get himself through on goal himself and was able to confidently slot home past the keeper. After Peterlee defended one of our corners the ball ended up back at the half way line where Leighton launched it back towards the Peterlee goal and into the back of the net (It was a shot not a pass🤣). The lads went in at half time quite comfortable and 3-0 up.
During the second half Peterlee made some changes and the game came alive, Peterlee's 'never give up attitude' was to be admired and had my nerves shot to bits. Travis managed to bag another great goal but the scores were level at 4-4 before Tom wandered into the box and finished a great cross from Travis with a powerful header into the Peterlee goal in the last minute to win us the game 5-4. A great game to watch, both sides played really well.

Pulled off some great saves from close range, claimed every corner and cross into the 6 yard box and his distribution caused the Peterlee defence a number of problems. - Well done mate !!

Always a threat, 2 superbly taken goals, a brilliant corner into the box to line Tom up for the winner and some great passing moves. Well done mate !!

HETTON JUVENTUS (3) vs WEAR UTD VEDRA (6)
Another pre-season friendly and another early KO. This week Juventus came up against a recently promoted Wear UTD Vedra side which gave the lads a chance to test themselves against another strong side.
Some absolutely great football from the lads saw them take a two goal lead. The first goal was squeezed in by Carl from a really tight angle after nicking it from in front of the Vedra keeper. Travis took a gamble and smashed a shot from just over the half way line which almost took the back of the Vedra net off which got us to half time 2-0 up. Some tactical changes and a lot of substitutions gave Vedra almost a full team of fresh legs and it gave them the edge in the second half. The Juventus lads battled to the end and Travis was able to score another great goal from around 20 yards out. The final scoreline doesn't reflect the effort put in by the lads, a couple of extras players to use as subs and maybe a little bit more fitness training and who knows we might have been able to win it. Never the less we take a lot of positives away from the game.
