Massive congratulations to the reserves on securing promotion to Wearside division One! An outstanding season from start to finish. Well done lads!

01/05/2026

As the season comes to an end, the club would like to thank everyone who has played a part both on and off the pitch this year.

Firstly, a huge thank you to the players for their efforts and performances throughout the season. Finishing 6th in the league, improving on last year’s position, and reaching a semi-final is something to be proud of and a strong platform to build on.

Secondly, and most importantly, we would like to thank our sponsor, Chrissy from Sydney Sparrows, for backing us throughout the season. Your support has been greatly appreciated.

We’d also like to thank all of the volunteers who have helped during the season. Without your time, effort, and commitment, the club simply would not be able to run.

Thank you to everyone involved.

Now we look ahead to next season, where we want to come back bigger and better. To achieve that, we need your help.

We are currently looking for more volunteers, whether that’s helping on matchdays or joining the committee. We are also looking to strengthen our management team to support the manager, with roles available including:

• Assistant Manager
• First Team Coach
• Kit Man
• Physio

If you are interested in any of the above roles, please drop us a message via our page.

Thank you again for all your support, and we look forward to seeing you next season.

Match Report
Southmoor 3-2 Easington Lane

Our final game of the season was certainly an eventful one. Southmoor started the brighter side and enjoyed most of the possession early on, but it was Easington Lane who struck first after 16 minutes. Brad Thompson played Flynn Consitt through on goal, and with the keeper off his line, he produced a superb chipped finish from the edge of the box to make it 1-0.

The Lane defended well throughout the first half, limiting Southmoor to very few clear chances and ensuring Ure in goal was rarely troubled. Just before the break, Easington Lane doubled their lead with a brilliant individual run and powerful finish from Josh Pettler.

Half-time: Southmoor 0-2 Easington Lane

The second half began in much the same fashion, with Southmoor seeing plenty of the ball, and they eventually pulled a goal back to make it 2-1. It looked as though The Lane were going to hold on for the win, but with 10 minutes remaining, Southmoor grabbed two to win the match.

Man of the Match: Josh Pettler, who was a constant threat in attack throughout.

As this was our final game of the season, we’d like to thank everyone for their support. Whether you came to one game or followed us throughout the season, we truly appreciate it.

Match Report
Easington Lane 1 – 4 Barnard Castle

With 10 players unavailable before kick-off, it gave some of the younger lads an opportunity today, and they battled well and gave a very good account of themselves.

Barnard Castle took the lead after just two minutes with a goal that appeared offside to everyone in the ground, apart from the linesman. Best leave it at that.

The Lane responded well and on 23 minutes Pettler played a great ball over the top for Robbie Bird, who calmly poked it round the keeper and slotted home to make it 1-1.

Half-time: 1-1

In the second half, we just couldn’t get going and Barnard Castle capitalised, scoring three more goals to take the win.

No complaints about the effort from the lads today, especially the younger players who stepped up when needed.

Man of the Match: Brad Thompson – after missing a few games, he returned full of energy, played in a variety of positions, and gave 100% throughout.
