Well, where do we start with today?!
The game started very brightly and unfortunately ended in complete disaster.
We had three really good chances in the first half that we didn’t capitalise on, and those missed opportunities would ultimately come back to haunt us. Just before half time, Windscale were awarded a penalty — and, let’s be honest, if you’ve played over there, you’ll know exactly what we think of that decision.

The second half is where, potentially, we’ve seen it all.
Three red cards, two for challenges which, in our opinion, were yellow cards at best, and the final one for simply asking the referee a question. Add in a sin bin and a couple of other cards, and it became a game dominated by the officials rather than the football.
We’ve had a brilliant day out and credit to the 28 lads who travelled with us and made the most of it — but that isn’t the point.
We can take defeat. We don’t have an issue with losing football matches. But today, we genuinely feel we were shafted by the referee. I probably shouldn’t say it, but from where we were standing, it felt like pure cheating.
£850 for the bus, 12 hours of our day and a huge commitment from everyone involved, only to have the game completely taken out of our hands by an official who, in our opinion, didn’t want any help and made the game all about himself.
And the biggest question is: why does it seem to happen to so many teams when they travel to Windscale, yet nothing appears to change?
