Houghton Albion 1 – 1 Washington Jaguars

A superb performance today. The boys were relentless in their effort and controlled the game for the full 60 minutes against a strong Washington side pushing at the top of the table.

A brilliant header from Vin gave us a well-deserved lead, and we came close to adding more, with the opposition keeper making a couple of excellent saves to deny Joe and Theo.

Then came the sucker punch—quite literally—as Washington equalised from a corner with a handball that unfortunately went unnoticed by the referee. A frustrating way to concede, but we still come away with a point.

Proud of the fight and determination shown by every player today.

Man of the Match could have gone to anyone, but special mention goes to our centre midfielders, who worked superbly together throughout.

One game to go now as we push to finish the season on a high.

Houghton Albion 2 – 2 Jarrow
A solid display from the lads in brutal wind yesterday — never easy conditions to play in. After going 2–0 up, I always back us to see it through, but it wasn’t to be.

We had a couple of great chances to kill the game and couldn’t quite convert. Credit to them as well — a couple of long-range efforts (20–30 yards) flew into the back of the net, and there was little we could do about those.

We take it on the chin. A couple of weeks off now for Easter, then we go again and look to finish strong with two games to go.

Special mention to Lawson, who stepped up from the U10s to go in goal for us — looked comfortable all game and pulled off a sensational triple save from a free kick 👏

MOTM goes to Jack — by far our most creative player on the pitch yesterday 👏

Houghton Albion 3–1 Wearside FC

Eventually we got back to playing some football after only one game so far in 2026 — and we’ve backed up last time’s point with all three today.

A tremendous effort from the lads, especially with no substitutes available. It was a comfortable win in the end, although we struggled at times to play the football we wanted. On pitches like that, it’s never easy.
Defensively we were outstanding all afternoon, and when we broke forward we were absolutely lethal. Credit as well to our keeper for a superb performance when called upon — big saves at big moments.

Didn’t stop running in the middle of the park — he was everywhere.

Houghton Albion 0 South Shields Harton & Westoe 0

After an extra long winter break we were back today and earned a really good point away at a good shields team. Boys were superb defensivley, defended as a team and restricted the opposition to very little. Out of the 2 teams we created the better chances but just couldn't convert when they came. If we play and compete like we have today we'll be in for a good 2nd half of the season. Ethan being injured and having to come off at half time wasnt ideal but up stepped Frdiie for us in the 2nd half 🤝 shares MOTM with our centre half Vinnie who was exceptional today !

Looking forward now to welcoming the unbeaten league leaders to Newbottle next week 💪

We're back, after having log in issues for the past couple of month, we are sorted 🤣

Last game of the year today and it didnt end how we hoped, losing 3 - 2 to gateshead Reds.

A slow and sloppy first half finding our selves 3 1 down was followed by a magnificent 2nd half, we were aggessive, physical and direct something we need to start doing from the start of games in 2026.

We completely dominated in the 2nd half without punsihing gateshead with the chances we were creating, once we got the 2nd we threw everything at them which lead to a penalty which ended up being the last kick off the game. Footballing gods against us and we struck the inside of the post and the final whistle went 😣

A lot positives to take from the 2nd half as we look to build in the 2nd half of the season .

Houghton Albion 5 Jarrow FC 3

Fantastic win early this morning following on from our point last time out. Things coming together nicely now and the boys thoroughly deserved there win this morning.

1st half and the start of the 2nd half was dominated by the lads, found our selves 4 - 1 and comfortable, chances came and went and we could and should have been 5, 6, 7 up but wasn't to be, Jarrow got back in it through a freak goal which brought the nerves which led to us conceding another with 5 mins to go. Couldn't be prouder with the reaction to that, they boys did everything to protect our goal and worked their socks off. A late break and great work from Freddie down the left hand side who found seppi finished the game off.

Buzzing for those boys who've gave everything in the first few games and now we're starting to see the rewards, role on next Saturday 💙💪

Another game we should have defiantly taken the 3 points, dominated the majority of the game. Well continue to work on our defending to help us concede less going forward but plenty positives so far this season and especially today. Most importantly were up and running and a really tight league a couple of wins shoots us up the table. All the confidence in the world In these lads and im so confident the wins will come.

A late update this week, weve been having some login in issues 🙈

Another incredibly tight game at the weekend that we were on the wrong side off. In my opinion did more than enough to win the game and deserved that but it wasn't to be.
Weve competed well in our first three games and if we had a bit more luck wed be sitting better off in the table. Another mistake at the death, not clearing our lines properly cost us, again the mistakes are something we need to put right and quickly.
Im so confident in this group of lads and im certain the results will start matching the performance, we are 100% more than capable to compete in this league and im convinced that first win will come saturday ⚽️

Houghton Albion 3 Washingotn Lions 4

Gutted to lose in the last kick today, did more than enough in the game to leave with at least a point. Message is clear we need to be better at defending set pieces, 3 more today following on from 4 last week. The lads worked there socks off but they know we need to improve at defending corners. If we do, weve got the players that will score goals and win us games. Not the start we wanted but it's a long season and still plenty points to play for.

Not how we'd want to start the season but today shows what the step up is going to be like, too many off our mistakes leading to washington goals, we cut them out, well have a chance.
Good spirit from the lads in the 2nd half got us back in it and we really pushed on for that 3rd whilst the game was at 4 - 2 but a late washy goal killed the game. We never rolled over and we kept going which was really pleasing to see. Well bounce back agaisnt another washington side away from home next week 💪⚽️
