The Raptors showed what they're all about today with a battling win against an incredibly challenging team.
And now we're through to the semifinals of the black league cup which is a huge achievement already! 🙌🏼

Huge well done to Jackson, Nathan and Jacob for their bravery in taking and scoring their penalties, and of course to our chicken jockey hero Ollie!

Raptors 1-2 Golborne

It's always hard to take losing to a last minute winner but the lads should be proud of themselves, putting in a strong performance against another good team in this black league. And once again they've done us proud with their conduct, supporting each other and never moaning about a 16 year old ref.

Commanding display at the back, excellent comunication and leadership. Passed out to wide areas well and another headed goal! Well done! ⚽

Parents MOTM Archie 🏆
Relentless in pressing, showed leadership from the front and worked his socks off for the team. Well done!

Charnock Richard 1-3 Raptors

BIG performance today from the Raptors! Charnock Richard are the best team we've faced this season and are one of the best teams in the black league so to play like that and to get a great result is reward for all the hard work the lads have put in all season.

All of them were heroes out there this morning, especially with no subs.

Ollie kept us in the lead in the first half with some brilliant saves again. Arthur showed so much more control with his delaying of the opposition but also some fantastic tough tackles. Nathan marshalled the back, great communication and stopped so many of their attacks. Jackson showed excellent positional discipline after a tactical tweak in the first half, doing the dirty work to allow others to push forward. Fred was a beast, pressing hard, tracking back and eased pressure on us with his huge drives forward. Jacob showing amazing footwork and scored two great goals. Archie despite not feeling well put in a huge shift, great link up play with others and scored the 3rd to seal this outstanding win.

Sorry I've rambled on, I'm just absolutely buzzing after that! 💚

Coaches' and Parents' POTM has to be the whole team. Amazing team spirit once again, working hard for each other and showing such resilience.

Moss Bank Yellows vs HSM Raptors

This morning was a action packed remembrance game. After both teams honored the last post. Game started

First half Raptors were on the front foot, dominating possession and creating plenty of chances. This could have been a 4/5 nil first half without some heroic opposition defending and goal keeping. We finally broke the deadlock with Fred tucking the ball in at the front post. First half 1-0

Second half we started the same with high press but moss bank countered fast got them back level. Only a couple of minutes later they had there second chance and went 2-1 up.

Big controversy happened in the last 10 minutes. With the opposition winning a “clear”penalty. But if you ask our fanastic dudes it wasn’t 🫣. Oli made a wonderful save but the rebound got bundled in. The last 10 minutes entered and the Raptors rallied and Freddie scored the goal of the season with a beautiful bicycle kick. The Raptors continued the pressure but unfortunately ran out of time game ended 3-2.

Honorable mention goes to the hero between the sticks Mr Oliver Mchugh. Not only did he save a penalty but he made an outrageous scorpion kick goal line clearance . 👏👏👏

Parents MoM went to the birthday boy Freddie Lea who scored both goals today and put in a brilliant performance even though he may of argued with the ref.

Coaches Man of the Match Jacob Sands. He did an incredible amount of dirty work today constantly working off the ball and when he had it always looked for the pass or shot.

Few words from the opposition coach "Cheers. Yeah was a great game to watch. 👍🏻 We rode our luck in the first half but were pretty clinical with the few chances we had. First time I’ve seen an overhead kick going at this level too. 💪🏻"

New kits have arrived many thanks to our new sponsor Parkinson Cleaning Services and the Raptors have been flying high.

Started with the home kit debut on the 5/10/24

Raptors hosted Oxford Grove and Moss Bank Whites for a Round Robin down at Horwich St Marys Football Club

First game was was against Moss bank and we started fast controlling the possession and created wonderful chances. When then took the lead with a brilliant goal by Jackson followed closely by a neat goal Nathan and the first game was finished with a wonderful goal by Jacob.
3-0 Raptors win.

After a little break the second game was on the way against Oxford Grove Wildcats. This is where the Raptors starting to fly. We were on the front foot from the start creating chance after chance and we where rewarded early on with a wonderful goal from Riley which he continued his form and earned his Hatrick. Archie also got a very good brace and finally Fred who should of had a hatrick earned himself his first headed goal for the Raptors.

The Raptors competed in their home tournament and made it through to the final and went on and won it.

Outstanding performances from every individual today, especially Ollie with that unbelievable double save to keep us in the game in the final! But more importantly collectively as a team. What a great bunch of lads we have here, the team spirit is superb and they should be so proud that they finished top of a tough group and then of course winning the whole thing!

All those cup finals we lost last season makes winning this one that much sweeter! These boys are an absolute delight to coach and were superb all day. Quality football against the giant U10s, superb team spirit and great fun all round 💚

We didn't get to say it at the end but Fred was my Player of the Tournament with his endless energy in attack, his quality on the ball and getting that all important semi final goal 👏⚽💚

And what a winning goal today from Jackson, worthy of winning any cup final 🔥🔥🔥

League Match 15
Radcliffe Red Rebels 3-1 Raptors

It was a difficult match against an excellent passing team but we battled hard and showed some real quality ourselves in parts.
3-0 down at half time but it was testament to the spirit of these boys that they didn't give up, putting in an excellent 2nd half performance.

Coaches' POTM Jacob
Outstanding in the middle. Battled for every ball, played aggressively, superb vision with his passing and through balls and rewarded with a very well taken free kick ⚽ Well done! 🏆

Parents' POTM Fred
He always sets a great example for others to follow with his work rate, pressing high as well as stretching their defence with so many runs. His energy is unbelievable! We could see he loved some of those sliding challenges too 😝 Well done! 🏆

Ollie a hero in goal again with so many saves!
