We had a Great evening last night at the Circuit Rally Championship Awards dinner. Good to see everyone & catch up at the end of the season - along with fantastic hospitality and a few drinks obviously.🍻
Alasdair came away with 2nd Driver in Class 3.
I finished 3rd Overall Co-driver.
Another successful year in the Retropower Chevette HSR - A Big Thank You to all our sponsors & supporters.
Huge Thanks also to all of the Organisers of the CRC / All of the Individual car clubs who run the events & All of the Marshals / Volunteers who make it possible for us to go and rally cars at the weekend. 🙏🏼

On the last stage of the rally at Cadwell Park we hit a tyre on the inside of the corner at the end of Park Straight - we were a bit distracted putting a pass on a slower car and making it stick.

Before the suspension gets stripped it made sense to see what’s damaged. Geometry checks confirmed the steering is deranged, and the camber and castor aren’t right.

Found the compression strut has bent, and the steering arm has also been tweaked a bit.

Steering rack and crossmember to check next, to make sure everything is true for next season.

Deep clean complete ready for the jobs to start.

Really pleased how well the paint and raptor is holding up under the arches after 8 years and 55 rallies. Where stone chips have happened the hot zinc metal spraying that Retropower does means that corrosion isn’t even a possibility.

It might be the end of the season, but we’ve got a lot of work to get through over the summer. Last summer’s preparation helped us have a 100% finishing record on the eight rounds we competed in this season.

First up is a deep clean of the front end, followed by new front bodywork. The wings are the originals I bought in 1992 from Peter Maiden Components, but after two lots of repairs they’re long past their best!

We’ll try to keep the posts coming over the next 6 months so you can see what we’re doing to prepare for the 2026/27

Great afternoon - Love this place - Cadwell is fantastic..!
Car going well and pushing hard but Bradley & Gareth are still ahead of us.
We are giving it everything.
Sitting 10th Overall with Bradley 21 secs up the road in 8th Overall.
