Last weekend I got the chance to work with with a bit of driver coaching/mechanic work. We ran into extremely unfortunate luck on Saturday and Sunday but I’m proud of the way Mathis handled everything, with all of the lessons learned I think Mathis is in for a great year. This one hurts. I am sad to hear of Dave Merritt’s passing today. Dave will forever be one of the biggest influences I have in racing and in life, when Dave was in your corner you felt like you could do anything. There’s a lot I can say about him that won’t fit into this post but I am truly blessed to have spent a short time working with and learning from Dave. This photo sums up Dave really well, it’s from the 2019 Coupe de Montreal at probably the lowest point I’ve ever had at the race track. Everything was going wrong and I couldn’t seem to do anything right but more importantly I just wasn’t having fun like I should have. I remember getting towed off in the prefinal and seeing Dave thinking he was about to chew me out for breaking everything (clearly I didn’t know him too well at this point). I felt awful for making him drive all the way from Ontario on what was shaping to be his one off weekend of the year. However, to my relief he simply said something along the lines of “that sucks” and we never spoke of racing the rest of the day. He talked to me about everything but racing for 3 hours which calmed me down and later led to the most fun I’ve ever had in a race. This was a defining day for me in racing and life and Dave really helped me see the importance of finding joy in whatever it is you decide to do. Thank you isn’t enough Dave, rest easy.

Just looking back on the highlights of our 2025 season and although it was a short one, I’m proud of the progress that was made. The team gave me an awesome opportunity to grow as a driver in the cut-throat series. Being able to be teammates with Brian was a perfect way to end the season, it’s not every day you get to share the track with someone you look up to! Once again very thankful to for making me a better driver and to for the help as teammate. Finally, I got the chance to stay active in Karting and coach Mathis to a very successful rookie campaign. It was refreshing to see all of the hard work the cadet kids put in pay off for all of them. All in all, I feel truly blessed to have gotten to spend as much time at the track as I did. Not sure what 2026 entails at the moment but you can bet you’ll catch me at a track. -Calum

Just wrapped up finals day at the Formula Ford Festival . Although we fell a couple places short of making the final, still proud of the work put into me to give me a good shot. Hard to be disappointed with being in the top half of the toughest formula ford race in the world! Also my fundraiser is still live for in my bio, trying to get closer to my fundraising goal!

Paul has been an early supporter of my racing but an even longer supporter of my ambitions outside of racing. Congrats to everyone at Robert Simmonds Clothing and I’m excited to see what Amanda has in store!

I am thrilled to start this new chapter as the new owner of Robert Simmonds!

Taking over such a well-respected and long-standing business is both an honor and a responsibility that I don’t take lightly. I am excited to continue our tradition of excellence while also bringing a fresh perspective to our role in the Maritimes.

Hey folks! To celebrate my participation at the World Formula Ford Festival in thr U.K. I have decided to try my hand at fundraising on behalf of my late grandmother Heather. I am excited to announce that after a partial campaign with : The opportunity has come up to run with for the 2025 Formula Ford Festival !! This will mark my first time competing across the pond and I look forward to using the years of experience has to my advantage throughout the weekend! I cannot thank them enough for taking me on as well as to for helping to make this happen. Just over a week of rest until we get started!
