Dear Members,

It is with sadness that I have to inform you that long term member of the Club Stan Bishop has passed away.

For those of you who knew Stan, his funeral will take place at Worthing Crematorium at 3pm on 17th December and a wake will be held afterwards at Southwater Cricket Club.

In the meantime our condolences are sent to Stan's family and friends.

Dear Members,

It is with great sadness that we have been informed that Ray Parks has passed away.

Ray was a long standing member at the Club - and enjoyed many a snooker match over the years in the League. He was always a tenacious competitor, always fighting for his frames but win or lose he was always a true gentleman and a good friend to many.

Ray's funeral takes place this Wednesday 18th September at Worth, St Richards Chapel, at 11 am followed by a "wake" back at the Holbrook Club - please see link below:

I hope you have all enjoyed the 2023-24 snooker season and congratulations to all the players in the competition finals held over the last month.

We will be holding the AGM & Presentation night on Wednesday 15th May @ 7.30pm @ Roffey Sports & Social Club. Food will be provided on the night.

We will be potentially using the website to complete registrations for the new season and will be presenting some information at the AGM regarding this, so I won't be sending out paper based registration forms yet.

I assuming all teams will be playing next year. The only teams I have heard from who are struggling with player numbers are: YMCA & Barns Green A. Hopefully, they will be able to add 2-3 players into each team before the new 2024-25 season starts on 16th September 2024.

We look forward to seeing you on the 15th May.

Dear Members,

Further to my email of yesterday please find confirmation that the new online booking system is now working - this is on our main website page. The Club is open for business from 0900 tomorrow 10th July.

Once on you will see a further link - click on the table you want, the date and time you want and fill in the necessary details. Please remember to cancel your booking if you are not going to play to be fair to all - and please remember, when booking slots to ensure that you are being fair to all other members. We will review booking rules when the Covid 19 crisis eases and as we see table traffic developing.

Please follow all our guidelines with regard to booking - and it is imperative that we all strictly follow the COVID 19 rules laid out in the previous email, on the booking form and on signs around the club. I would suggest, in order to keep the numbers in the club down - that you do not turn up "on spec".

In the meantime it is my pleasure to welcome you all back - perhaps our enforced absence will improve our play as well! Thank you to all for your patience and help during this time.

Dear Members,

With lock down measures slowly being eased there has been some speculation as to when the Club can, at long last, re-open.

The Committee has continued to run the club and meet, albeit virtually.

At present we are still awaiting firm guidance as to when we, as a Sports Club, can re-open, and as such we are in a holding pattern. We expect to have this guidance soon and when this is received we will contact all members as soon as we are able, via this email, to inform you of any developments including, if we have it, a definitive opening date.

When we do open, there will be strict house rules that we will all have to adhere to and we will appraise you of these and any further COVID 19 processes you will need to follow.

We look forward to welcoming you back to the Club as soon as we are able to do so and we appreciate your continuing patience.
