East Riding FA Grassroots Football Awards!

Last night Claire and Emily had the pleasure of attending the East Riding FA Grassroots Football Awards. Our very own Claire (The Club at Leven Sports Hall) was nominated for the Lioness Award and although she wasn’t this years winner we are still very proud and thankful for the nomination and recognition for what Claire has done for the team and the support she has had behind her from Brandesburton AFC, Coach Callum and most importantly our players past and present!

Claire was nominated for her journey in creating opportunities for women’s football in Hornsea. What began as a small group of 8 participants open to anyone, regardless of experience, has grown into a thriving and successful team Brandesburton Ladies AFC. To see the team now competing competitively and securing an undefeated league title win in just their second season together is a remarkable achievement.

Wow what a day! Can guarantee there was a few sore heads and bleeding ears this morning🫣🍻 Massive well done to all the team and those involved. This is a huge achievement and one to go down in history! To go undefeated at any level is very difficult so definitely one to be proud of👏🏻

No player of the match as everyone went out there put their heart and soul into everything to get us over the line. Special mention to Laura bagging a hat trick and taking her goal tally to 20 goals for the season well done👏🏻

Coach Callum said the aim for this season was top 3 and the ladies absolutely blew that out the water. Every single player has worked hard, fought for themselves and each other and most importantly been an amazing group of ladies who bring out the best in each other on and off the pitch.

Thank-you to Cloud nine Hornsea for having us back for the evening to help us celebrate and their continued support. Thank-you to Josh Hall for DJ’ing and getting the girls up on karaoke, keeping the celebrations and partying going all night. Thank-you to Carl Wiles for taking some great shots of the ladies. Lastly a thank-you to all our supporters who have backed us over the last 7 months, we couldn’t do this without you and it was great to get the league title win on home turf in-front of you all.
