Optimum Motorsport was founded in 2007 but the origins of the team began in 2000, and it is today run by Shaun Goff. Over the past eight years Optimum has developed future motorsport stars across multiple Ginetta programmes, including Joe Osborne, Ryan Ratcliffe and Stewart Linn. The Wakefield-based squad has scored five championship victories, most notably the 2013 British GT4 Class title with Ryan Ratcliffe and Rick Parfitt Jnr.

Working across programmes including GT World Challenge Europe, British GT and International GT Open, these are hands-on roles based at our workshop, with regular UK and international travel.

🚛 Chief Truckie
Race transporters, event logistics, freight, equipment management and event set-up. HGV licence and previous motorsport experience essential.

🛞 Truckie / Tyre Technician
Tyre stock and allocation, tyre tracking, tyre ovens, wheel preparation and working closely with engineers throughout race and test events. Previous motorsport experience essential. HGV licence preferred.

What we're looking for 🔍
Reliable, organised and proactive people with GT, endurance racing or equivalent motorsport experience who are ready to become part of a busy GT race team.

◼️ Carbon Composites Technician
Composite inspection, repair and preparation of GT race car components, including bodywork, floors, splitters and other carbon components at our dedicated composites workshop, as well as supporting the race team trackside by carrying out rapid composite repairs, damage assessment and preparation to ensure cars are returned to track quickly and to a high standard.

🧰 Skills required: Motorsport composite experience, strong attention to detail and the ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced race environment.

Marc Warren topped Q1, not just in his respective class - but overall, for the second time in as many events. Him and Jack Brown finished up fifth overall, and third in GT3 Silver-Am - they line-up tomorrow afternoon just behind team mates and current championship leaders, Ben Barnicoat and Morgan Tilbrook - who have a 20-second success penalty to serve during their mandatory stop.

In GT4, Josh Stanton closed out Q1 second overall in GT4, and after losing his fastest lap to track limits, George Gamble ended up sixth, meaning Optimum's sole GT4 entry starts from 4th place in GT4 Silver - 6th from the 11 GT4 entries this weekend.

Our four-car British GT line-up is back in action this weekend - with only two rounds left of the 2026 season!

It's going to be hard to beat Snetterton, given the mammoth haul of trophies we brought home three weeks ago, but with championships on the line - and potentially decided this weekend at Donington Park - it's definitely one to watch!

Going into Round 7, Optimum's Morgan Tillbrook and Ben Barnicoat lead the GT3 Driver's standings by 13.5 points. The #77 McLaren must finish second or better - and ahead of their championship rivals, this weekend to wrap things up with a race to spare. However, their 20-second "success penalty" from Snetterton will prove undoubtedly tough to overcome.

Meanwhile in GT4, Optimum's Josh Stanton lies fifth in the GT4 Driver's standings - meaning his championship hopes are still very much alive. However, Stanton has significant time penalties to serve for his success alongside George Gamble at Snetterton last time out, plus added pit-stop time for his Silver driver status. That said - Optimum have secured GT4 victory at three of the last four races at Donington. So could a title from his debut British GT season be within reach after all?

Having already completed pre-event testing yesterday, the official track action begins tomorrow at 9:35am, leading up to the penultimate British GT race of 2026, taking place on Sunday afternoon.
