Southern & Scottish Electric need to turn our power off so they can install a new substation to safely turn on the work shed and pavilion.

Unfortunately this means we will be closed on Thursday 16th July, no gym or any classes on this day we are sad to say.

So, plan your training for week beginning the 13th July to have an outdoor cardio or rest day on that Thursday so it doesn’t disrupt your progress.

Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to seeing you all in the gym soon 💪🏻

Starting Tuesday 5th May is adding a second class on Tuesday mornings at 0900.

Join Ray for a dynamic, invigorating Yoga practice that links breath with movement in a strong, flowing sequence. Designed to build strength, flexibility, balance and endurance it will challenge the body whilst focusing the mind. Each class will be a unique blend of intensity and mindfulness - not just a work out but also a “work-in”.

Yesterday saw us host the first clinic with Simon from our onsite partners SB Physio on injury prevention.

Simon offered some fantastic advise on:
🔵 the importance of warming up,
🔵 progressively overloading safely,
🔵 ways to vary your work out to move functionally,
🔵 should the worst happen the initial injury management principle,
🔵 the importance of cool downs.

We finished with a brief Q&A session which was great to sit in and listen to.

It wasn’t as busy as we had liked but we are always learning so our questions to you is:
🙋🏻‍♂️ What is a topic that you would be interested in?
🙋‍♀️ What time of day suits this type of thing better so you can attend?
🙋 Do you use the team to support you in your fitness journey?

Dear members,

The club will be closed on Thursday 16th April 2026 due to necessary maintenance work by Scottish & Southern Electricity networks. There will be no electricity to the club on this day therefore we have no option but to keep the club closed for health and safety reasons.

We apologise for any inconvenience this causes and look forward to seeing you back on Friday.

Following last weeks sad news of David’s passing please find details of his funeral should you wish to attend.

It is with a heavy heart and great sadness we announce the death of our founder, David Parker.

Sadly David passed away suddenly last week and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time.

It was David and Su’s vision that created The Park Health Club in 2004 playing important roles over the next 10years building a strong foundation of members, many of which still train with us today.

There will be many fond memories of workouts in the gym, social events that may or may not include fancy dress, very muddy mountain bike rides (some having detours into bushes!) and his always cleaner than clean cars parked in the car park to be played back over.

I remember one of my final handover meetings with David where he sat and told me “There will always be a part of The Park in me.”

If you find yourself in the gym this week please do an extra repetition of all your exercises and send your thoughts to David’s family and friends.

The data is in, the numbers have been added and the top visits for February are:

🥇 David Kingston = 22
🥈 Daniel Pugh = 21
🥈 Sandra Scregg = 21
🥉 Stefan Carroll = 20
🥉 Melanie Ellis = 20

The number of visits for the month was an amazing 2,527… taking into account February includes the first school holidays of the year that is an amazing achievement.

With the spring sun starting to peak it’s head through and the days getting longer we are sure training will be begin to ramp up as we ready ourselves for summer. If you are looking for help to transition from your winter to spring training please do not hesitate to book some time with one of the team so we can support you with that change.

Two beast like teams filled with staff and members competed in this weekend 🏋🏻

If you don’t know, get to know !

Both teams absolutely smashed it through the roof, setting new PB’s and pushing the body to its absolute limit, but most importantly having fun 😛🏋🏻

P.S If you see any of these guys in the gym, give them a little pat of the back 😆
