Promotion for our British Championship event on the 25th/26th July is now stepping up a gear or two – we are again using CarEvents .com as part of our promotional campaign.

Yesterday our poster was published on 15 local “whats on” FB Groups and our good friends Kat and Austen at The Gerrard Arms, Colyton and Bradfords Building Supplies, Seaton have posters on display and leaflets available - thank you!

The excitment is beginning to build for our British Championship event on the 25th/26th July – tickets went on sale on Saturday – you can get yours at https://www.wiscombepark.co.uk/events

So, with a BHC focus for Memory Lane Monday, we have taken a look into the Wiscombe Park Archive and we share with you some photo’s from our British Championship event in 2011.

Amongst the competitors are some of the current Top 12 runners – one or two were “rising stars” in 2011 and would go on to become multiple Champions – Trevor Willis (2012, 2017, 2018) and Wallace Menzies (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023).

In the case of Scott Moran – the 2011 Champion – his third title – he added another three titles! (2013, 2014. 2016) to equal the achievements of Tony Marsh. Scott is the most successful driver in the history of the sport for individual run off victories - a record 163 wins. His other stats include 4,208 points, 504 point scoring rounds, and 371 podiums. He made his debut in 2002.

All Scott’s title successes were achieved in the same car – the most successful chassis in BHC history – the Gould GR61X NME. Alex Summers also won his 2015 Championship in the car.

In 2011 Wiscombe Park was a happy hunting ground for Scott Moran – he won both Run Off’s on his way to the title. Father, Roger (1997 Champion), finished Runner-up.

You can look forward to seeing the current Champion, Matt Ryder, Will Hall, Wallace Menzies, and Trevor Willis in action in just over 5 weeks. This event brings together the fastest cars and drivers in the UK.

We have a British Championship Top12 Run Off and Tin Top Challenge Top 10 Run Off on both Saturday and Sunday. The Downton MC members will also be in action too.

We have launched the ticket sales for our British Championship event organised by Woolbridge MC on the 25th/26th July – they can be purchased from our web site https://www.wiscombepark.co.uk/events

In addition to a daily ticket, we also have a WEEKEND TICKET (extra discount) – PLEASE NOTE – THIS CAN ONLY BE PURCHASED IN ADVANCE UP TO 6pm on FRIDAY 24th JULY – IT CANNOT BE PURCHASED ON THE GATE ON SATURDAY.

This event is the highlight of our season and we are expecting a big crowd on both Saturday and Sunday. This is what we have for you -

You will see the fastest cars and drivers in the UK – the cars will reach speeds of up to 130mph on Castle Straight. This is an event that you do not want to miss.

The Wiscombe Team went in search of water yesterday! And they found it.....more major works to improve the course drainage. Fantastic efforts by Peter Issac and the Team utilising all their civil engineering skills. Last weekend Rod Eyles was winning his Class at Shelsley Walsh in his Porsche 911 Turbo.....yesterday he was at the controls of something a little slower!

There are always plenty of task’s on the Wiscombe Park “to do” list – the focus is now on ensuring that the venue looks its best for when we welcome the British Hillclimb Championship on the 25th/26th July – Tickets go on sale THIS SATURDAY.

The British Hillclimb Championship is developing into a very exciting three-way battle between current leader Will Hall, current and double Champion Matt Ryder and quadruple Champion Wallace Menzies. All three in Gould GR59 chassis with different engine combinations.

At last weekend’s Shelsley Walsh event, Will Hall won both Run Off’s and set a new Hill Record – congratulations Will and Team Hall! An awesome run on a day when a new HR was not on the cards.

There are now four events (8 Rounds) before we welcome the British Hillclimb Championship to Wiscombe Park on the 25th/26th July – tickets will be on sale on Saturday 13th June. You do not want to miss this event – get ready to purchase your tickets!

Come and see Will, Matt (our current Hill Record holder), and Wallace and all the other Championship contenders taking on the challenge of our wonderful hill.

The British Hillclimb Championship contenders are in action at Shelsley Walsh this weekend.

The next few weeks will be very hectic for Will Hall, Matt Ryder and Wallace Menzies – the current Top 3 after Round 8 – and all the other competitors – this is their schedule -

July 4/5 Harewood
July 14 Bouley Bay - Jersey
July 18 Val des Terres - Guernsey

And then the highlight of our season when we welcome the British Championship to our glorious venue on the 25th/26th July!

We will have a BHC Top 12 Run Off and a Tin Top Challenge Top 10 Run Off on both Saturday and Sunday. Will our current Hill Record – 31.77s - set by Matt Ryder in 2024 be broken?
