The Aisling School of Irish Dance is an Irish Festival dance school, based in Holywood The dancer and musician share a vital symbiosis.

Irish Festival dance is a very interpretive form of Irish Dance, unique to Northern Ireland. Festival dancers hold expression and interpretation high on their list of dance priorities. Alongside working towards great technique, dancers are encouraged to story-tell and reflect the nuances within their music, whether dancing in pumps or heavy shoes. The ultimate goal is an emotional connection with

the audience. Significantly, the dance-form is different from more widely recognized forms of Irish dance, particularly in terms of presentation. Dancers don't wear wigs or fake tan, their natural beauty preserved; the girls' dresses are simple and flow with the dance.

The Aisling girls on stage at Guildhall, Derry last night for the 5 Jurisdictions Family Law Conference, 2026, performing to 200 delegates from across the UK. An honour to dance in such an historic and beautiful building in the Maiden City.

Performances included new teamdance The Betrayal of Deirdre, A Slip Jig Medley and Reel Around the Sun. A great night had by all!
