The team has hit one of its busiest summers on record. 246 call outs so far and counting….

Many members of the public are surprised to hear that the team is run by a small group of volunteers. We are unpaid individuals, underfunded and year on year our rescue numbers are increasing. The big question is WHY?
-
Tourism is flooding into the area and an increase in walkers on Yr Wyddfa may be two of the biggest contributing factors.
-
What can you do to help?
-
Some possibilities to consider - Good preparation is key when tackling the mountains of Eryri. Experience of hill walking, navigating and learning what to carry in a rucksack are essential before a walk up and down Yr Wyddfa. Do you have enough food and water for the day? Do you have the necessary clothing to stay warm and dry, even if you have to stop for an unexpected event? First Aid kit? What about a plan A, B and C if the weather takes a turn for the worst?

The Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team is a fully voluntary organisation who respond to those in need on Snowdon and the surrounding mountains. The Team is on-call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and relies entirely on donations from members of the public to carry out this essential life-saving rescue service.

Very sad news 😔
Thankyou to Siabod Cafe’s team for all the good coffee and scones over the years ❤️

Important announcement.

It is with deep regret & sadness we have to announce that The Moel Siabod Cafe, in Capel Curig, will cease to open from Monday 8th January 2024. This decision is based on un-resolvable issues which means we won't be renewing our Lease.

We know that 'The Siabod' will be very sorely missed & feel that to remove it from the Outdoor Community, which we feel very much a part of, has been the hardest part of us making this decision. We simply feel we must honour our self-respect & move on. We would like to give all of our customers & indeed many very good friends a very sincere & deep thank you for helping us to help you as best we could, there are simply too many great people amongst you to thank personally. It has been a truly memorable last 12 years making all the hard work exceptionally worthwhile.

There is a glimmer of light for the coming months as we are seeking to secure alternative premises elsewhere in or around Snowdonia which will, we hope, allow some existing customers to use & enjoy in the years ahead.

Of course, we must also thank all our team, Simona, Ady, Luca, Alan, Ellie & Emily & we hope that we can accommodate them in our plans for the future wherever possible if that suits them.

We will be open as normal up to & including Sunday 7th January 2024 & hope to see as many familiar & friendly faces in the days & weeks ahead. Please keep an eye out for updates on our plans which we will post here as & when we can.

Torrential rain and high winds on Siabod? Ahhh go on then 🤣

A fun day with this lovely lot, we made a decision two thirds of the way up that despite all the laughs and wet underwear, safety was kind of important…. And on this occasion a warm pub in Betws was more appealing than a summit pic 🙌🏽😂

A long over due catch up with Emily and a beautiful day for a long walk in the mountains 🙌🏽

Starting out at Abergwyngregyn and climbing up to Bera Mawr, Bera Bach & Drosgl, lots of wild ponies about and great views of the national park, we finished the day with a dip in Aber falls (a first for me!) with no crowds around we decided to jump in for a cool down 👌🏽 thanks Emily for a great day in Snowdonia

We are now building and supplying our completely bespoke high end camper kitchens to you for your self builds. Through 6 months of design and refinement we are now happy to offer these out as a DIY package. All cut from the bed of our brand new CNC machine, we can guarantee pin point accuracy every time. Only the highest quality furniture board, edge banding, (not plastic trim) Hafele cam locks for easy assembly, soft close door hinges and draw packs to name but a few of the standard features used in our kitchens. With loads of customisable options, be sure to contact us for a consultation. Trade also welcome.

Dub Alchemy Dressing to impress.

We figured with such a cool name and great branding you may wish to show support for our brand and look good at the same time 😎 So we developed a small (to start with) clothing line. We aim to grow this line with the business and create a real buzz for our company at VW festivals, meets and so on. Come to the workshops or bump into us at some of our upcoming trade stands while sporting some of our gear and you may even get some preferential treatment and discounts.
