Meet Our New Ambassador
We’re excited to introduce our new ambassador, Gwen Owen, and welcome her to the team.
Our ambassadors also organise a number of recce runs, and we’ll be sharing more details about these soon — so stay tuned!
Our dedicated team and amazing volunteers are the backbone of the Ring O' Fire. They ensure everything runs smoothly, supporting our runners from start to finish and embodying the community spirit that makes our race so special.
Gwen Owen is a runner based on Ynys Môn and the founder of MônGirlsRun, a women’s social running group created to offer a welcoming, supportive and empowering space for women to get into running.
Having taken up running almost three years ago, Gwen began with a simple idea that has since grown into a thriving community. MônGirlsRun has become far more than a running group; it is a place where women build confidence, form genuine friendships, and feel comfortable showing up exactly as they are.

Thinking of Running?
We’ve already sold almost 200 places, and entries are filling fast. The latest date to sign up is midnight on 1st July 2026, or sooner if all places sell out.
If you’re considering taking on the Firelighter, the Ring O’ Fire, or the new relay, we recommend signing up as soon to secure your place. See our website for more information, here: https://ringofire.co.uk/
Interested in Volunteering?
Our event thrives thanks to our volunteer marshals, whose enthusiasm and local knowledge drive our runners from checkpoint to checkpoint. We welcome new volunteers to join us — whether at the start line, at checkpoints, or within our safety and logistics teams.
We’d love to hear from you. Supporting an international ultra running event is an unforgettable experience. For more details about volunteer benefits and requirements, please see our volunteer page here: https://ringofire.co.uk/volunteers/
