Welcome to the Holt Bowls Club page! We are a village bowls club in the heart of Wiltshire who play in a range in competitive leagues and competitions.

Affiliated to Bowls England and Bowls Wiltshire and consisting of roughly 40 playing members, we are one of the premier bowls clubs in Wiltshire. If you fancy giving bowls a go please drop us a message.

We’re off to Leamington again!
Congratulations to our fours team of Wayne Simmonds, Justin Davis, Craig Hadfield-Doughty and Wayne Snook who have qualified for the Bowls England National Finals in August, after wins against Amesbury (21-5) and Salisbury (19-7) in today’s Wiltshire Quarter-final and Semi-final

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the loss of Holt Bowls Club member Tony Keating, who has sadly passed away in extremely sudden circumstances. It has come as a massive shock to all of our members who all loved and respected Tony, not just as a fellow bowler, teammate and friend but as a human being.

Tony was an integral part of our bowls club whose enthusiasm, support and dedication will be sorely missed both on and off the green.

We would like to extend our sincere condolences to Heather, Tony’s daughters and his whole family, over their sudden loss.

Tony will be sorely missed and forever remembered by all of those who were lucky enough to know him.

RIP Tony… god bless 💔

🗓 Sunday 15th September

Dedicated to the man who loved this event the most. The Rod Summers Open Triples tournament; renamed in loving memory of Rod, an honorary and unforgettable life member of our club.

Come and join us, support our club, and enjoy a day of competitive bowls. Open to all!

There will be space for 24 teams, with 4 groups of 6 teams. Each game will be 6 ends (40 minute time limit) and there will be an additional plate competition for 4 group runners-ups, with the chance to win prize money.

It’s opening day and the start of the 2024 outdoor season.
The green officially opens today and what a beautiful morning it is!

Our green officially opens on Wednesday 17th April!
After some careful preparation and hard work over the winter, it’s looking fantastic! Great effort by our greens maintenance team! 👌🏻

Thank you so much to everyone for all the kind words and thoughts at this sad time. They really highlight how fond people were of Rodney and how much his friendship meant to you. We will be passing all of these comments on to Rodney’s family.

We are all extremely saddened to share the very sad news that honorary life member, vice chairman and past club captain, Rodney Summers, has unexpectedly passed away.

The news comes as a great shock, even though Rodney had endured and battled through many serious underlying health issues in recent years. As someone who lived and breathed Holt Bowls Club, Rodney was a club stalwart who supported and championed the club through thick and thin and someone who put 110% into ensuring the clubs survival and progression during difficult times.

Rodney led our club throughout our most successful period between 2012 and 2018, overseeing the captaincy for two four rink league titles, two tourist trophy titles and quarter-final appearances in the national club two fours and top club competitions.

Personally, he qualified for the Bowls England national finals in both the pairs (2010) and the fours (2008 and 2014) while also achieving a personal career goal of representing Bowls Wiltshire in the Middleton Cup, when he played in two games during the 2011 season.

Our club simply won't be the same without him. 💔

Well, another year, another successful gala day at Holt Bowls Club! What a great day of bowls, sun, booze, music and laughs!

Congratulations to our winners today, Andy Haynes, Gary Fippen and Mike Braddon from Spencer Moulton Bowls Club, who took home the £450 pot!

Thanks to all 24 teams and 72 players for attending today, especially the players who travelled a long way to take part and to those that filled in at short notice! Without you, we wouldn’t have a gala day! 🙏

Big thanks to everyone for helping out today and the support is really appreciated! Thanks for making this years gala day, the best ever!
