We are a friendly, active and enthusiastic club, with an area covering from Bideford to Camelford and Okehampton to Launceston including Bude & Holsworthy that welcomes members from 3 to 25 years training young equestrians in 9 equestrian disciplines.

What can I say but a huge thank you to everyone at yesterdays Showjumping at the Grange whether competing or supporting.
In numbers 187 entries running absolutely to time to the end! We did have the dream team running with Steve & Jane in the judges box, Katy and Meg course building, Brontë, Darryn, Gabi, Becky, Kate & Georgie on tack check and collecting ring, Amy, Holly, Rebecca & Penny on rosettes and Hayley on car park monitor.
We had Masterchef Andrew on the grill with Lesley and Jo who went through 30kg of fries and 10kg of cheese which fuelled some fabulous riding.. cheesy chips after all is officially the fuel of champions!!
Perkins Butchers’ burgers and the jumbo sausages were definitely a talking point all served in Hillcrest Bakery’s baps.
Thank you for all the messages saying how relaxed, well organised and smoothly run it was and glad you enjoyed it and look forward to seeing you again at the Spooners & West Dartmoor branch’s Twixmas Showjumping on 28th Dec at the Grange but get your entries in early so you don’t miss out!

Congratulations to our Area 16 young coaches including Brontë Stevens from our branch, who have completed their third steps training today at Holwell Lawn on Dartmoor under the watchful eye of Caroline Brimblecombe a hugely experienced and Accredited Professional Coach. Today they showed their skills coaching groups over a variety of xc fences in rather wet and misty weather. All the riders came back smiling together with our young coaches who are now looking forward to clocking up the necessary hours to be signed off. Huge thank you to Helen Moore from East Cornwall branch for organising.

What an amazing couple of days for Imogen Spencer at the JCB Pony Club National Eventing Championships placed 9th in her PC90 section jumping a beautiful clear xc round! The standard at these championships is extremely high and this really is a fantastic achievement!

Two of our members who had qualified went to the Mounted Games Southern Zone Finals in Somerset today in rainy conditions. Weeks if practice showed with their skill and ex*****on of the games.
The ponies were amazing in the games and won the tack and turnout.
There was very little margin between all the teams and 6 pairs had a ride off for positions but at this level a second or two makes all the difference for the placings but it was brilliant to watch and very exciting!!
This was the litter game, and it is extremely difficult but they make it look so easy!!

Thank you to our merry gang for setting up the show jumps this morning. Katie was teaching the younger members helping about striding, related distances and why turns before a jump are so useful.

This weekend Katie Vernon represented the branch at the Inter-area 15/16 tetrathlon @ Kings College, Taunton for the shoot and swim yesterday and Pontispool xc for the ride and run phases today.
This was Katie’s first tetrathlon as a junior, so a big ask, in a very competitive field of 38. A solid shoot of 920, and a pb swim left her in 8th place overnight. She then had a fabulous 1400 (clear) ride, over by far the biggest track (90cm), that she has tackled and a good run to hold her own in a very experienced and talented field to finish in 8th place helping her Area 16 team of Beth, Lamorna and Ada to a team 3rd! A fantastic result! Well done Katie!
