Well done to George and Max in the no.73 kart for their stunning drives at the RHPK Winter Cup.
The indications were looking promising, as we were pulled out of the 'hat' for the first team to go and undertake the 1 lap qualifying. Also meaning we would be on Pole for Race 2...
George laid a stunning single lap down, fastest of all the teams... truly amazing stuff. A nervous 25mins later, he was on Pole for Race 1.
A standing start for Race 1 saw him make a perfect start, with Marcel in the Wraith and the GKD team keeping him on his toes, he lead for the first 1hr 20m, handing over to Max, who continued in the same form, for the remainder of the 2 hours. Max crossed the line after 2 hours of racing in P1... George also set the fastest lap of the race as a bonus as well👍
Race 2, Max started the race - a standard rolling start - in Pole, and appeared to simply drive away cleanly from the rest of the field.. GKD once again were matching the 73 karts times, a tenth here and there either way, the gap staying at around the 5 second mark, he handed the kart back to George for the last 40m of race 2. George maintained that small lead and crossed the line, again in P1.
A great performance from both of them.
