It is with great sadness that everyone at the tennis club learned of the passing of one of our most valued members and greatest supporters, Roy Bickell.
Roy sadly suffered a heart attack and passed away yesterday after completing a round of one of his favourite pastimes, golf. His sudden loss has come as a tremendous shock to all who knew him.
Roy was a true friend to the club and a familiar face around the courts. He was the number one supporter of our teams, always encouraging players, celebrating successes, and taking a genuine interest in everyone involved. His warmth, kindness, humour, and unwavering support made him a much-loved member of our club family.
Roy will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His presence and contribution to the club will never be forgotten.
Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Roy’s children, Tracey, Julie and Andrew, as well as all of Roy’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time. Andrew and the family have been overwhelmed by the many messages of love, support, and condolences they have received, which is a testament to the impact Roy had on so many lives.
Funeral arrangements will be shared by Andrew and the family when they feel able to do so.
Roy Bickell will forever remain in our thoughts and in the heart of our club.
