‘I want to feel better about my body’
‘I want to get a half marathon personal best’
‘I want a healthier relationship with food’

All of the above are a type of goal. Ones that I’ve set myself over the years ❤️

One year post partum vs 1 week post partum ✨

It’s been a whole year of...

being kind to myself, being happy, having a good relationship with food & no fad diets!!

Just exercise & inner peace (plus just a lil bit of avocado 🥑 😜)

Effie changed my view on my body, I grew a life but now I continue to shape one. Staying on top of my game, being energised, being truly happy allowing me to be my best for my girl🤍

I want her to grow up and see her mum be positive with exercise, positive with food and positive with her body. Health is the only wealth we need 🤍

Don’t know about you, but I’ve really been feeling the cold? My perfect way to warm up is a quick 30 min HIIT session !

Today’s workout is 30 seconds on 10 seconds rest, 4 rounds !
- Ball slams (you can use a cushion if you don’t have a ball)
- mountain climbers
- burpee squat hold (holding for 2 seconds)
- weighted oblique crunch (use a full milk carton if no weights)
- 90 degrees squat jumps

P.s can you spot those little toes in the left hand corner 👶🏼 😍

I’ve had a lot of questions about what type of exercises I did when building up my core post partum, so I thought I’d show you a few !

They may feel like baby steps, but are essential to prevent future injury.

BREATHING: I started off with breathing exercises daily, 30-40 seconds 3 times a day. It seems silly and you feel abit of a Mellon doing it. But trust me you need it !

ABDOMINAL BRACING: this basically means tensing your abs as if you were about to be punched in the stomach. Start with this and hold for 20-30 seconds. To progress start to lift head off the ground, then move to legs then arms.

YOGA BOAT: Sit on the floor with your knees bent. Brace your abdomen, slightly lean your torso back while lifting your feet off the floor and arms extended out in front of you until you begin is feel the tensions (slight shaking in your core) then hold.

PELVIC TILT: this starts small (REALLY SMALL) Lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor or propped on a ball. Brace your abdomen and tilt your pelvis back by pressing your lower back into the floor. To progress lift your pelvis off the floor, and hold. Incorporating your glutes. (Photo shows progression)

Without doing all these how would I be able to do the horsey (without peeing myself) and get those amazing giggles ?! ❤️🥺💪🏼

Why Body Weight Training Works

Ever felt that a lack of equipment was the thing holding you back from training? A little fitness expertise and some workout clothes can give you the ability to workout anytime, anyplace – no excuses!

• Works more muscle groups when you strength train because stabilising muscles need to work as well to help you keep good form;
• Decrease speed to stop momentum assisting the repetitions. Instead slow it down, and use gravity to help you work deep in to the muscle tissue;
• Alternatively, increase speed to train sports specifically and to really get up a sweat;
• Reduce your base of support to give your postural muscles a good work out at the same time;
• Changes of gradient such as inclines and declines can be used to add variety and different challenges to your workouts.
