A fourth consecutive away day for Kimpton saw them take all three points from second placed Borehamwood Social Club Reserves on Sunday.
Rovers rich vein of form since the start of the season continued and their relentless attacking should have returned more than just Harry Byron’s fourteenth minute strike that they took into the break.
Abner Wallace making his first start of the season was industrious in the middle of the park and linked up well with holding midfielders Tom Hills and Tom Bundy. Ahead of them skipper Alex Jode created several good chances and on fifty-four minutes he drove into the home sides penalty area before lifting the ball goalwards over the onrushing keeper for Dlawar Rekar to tap home into the empty net. The two-goal cushion allowed Rovers to relax a bit more and they played some quality football, with Hills once again being the orchestrator of most of the ventures forward. The home side really had no answers of their own and forced just one save from the visitors keeper Arran Jones, who brilliantly thwarted a one-on-one attack in the final fifteen minutes. With the game moving into added time, Kimpton were awarded a free-kick wide on the left, Hills’s driven kick was heading for the home keepers’ arms but substitute Charlie Clee got the deftest of touches with his head to nestle the ball just inside the post to complete yet another comprehensive victory for the villagers.
Adam Sayer who marshalled his defence superbly was awarded the Meyer Office Solutions Player of the Match and after the clubs first analytics evening earlier in the week, goalscorer Rekar was voted unanimously as the scorer of Septembers Goal of the Month. Well done to them both.
A week off from official action next Sunday sees Rovers travel to Division One side Mermaid FC for a friendly.

Kimpton Rovers returned to winning ways on Sunday as they eased past Division Two side AFC Boots in the Herts Junior Cup with a convincing three goal victory.
Honours were even after the first forty-five minutes though the visitors created significantly more chances than their hosts, but on each occasion, they were found lacking the finesse to finish off the attempt.
From the restart it was the Boots who started the brighter, creating chances that brought several top-drawer saves out of Arran Jones in the Rovers goal and after what could have been a comfortable three or four goal cushion taken into the break Kimpton were lucky not to be the equivalent score behind. However, on fifty-six minutes, pressure on the home side playing out from the back on saw Ed Purple react swiftly to open the scoring. Eleven minutes later Purple doubled his tally and gave the visitors some breathing space, leaving the possibility of going to penalties fading fast. Changes that saw the introduction of Marcus Dilley and Charlie Clee galvanised Rovers and they continued to attack the home side’s goal. Though relentless in search of a third goal it was the Boots who came closest to opening their account with fifteen minutes left on the clock, forcing Jones into what could well be the save of the season, acrobatically tipping a powerful shot over the crossbar. The resultant corner was cleared and Rovers broke into the oppositions half and after some smart interchanges down the right flank, Harry Byron put the game to bed with the goal of the day, a deft flick with the outside of his right foot and the ball curling into the far side of the net.
So twice now this season Kimpton have despatch senior opposition from respective cup competitions and very much look forward to the challenges that the subsequent rounds will bring. Two goal hero Ed Purple was awarded the Meyer Office Solutions Player of the Match. Rovers return to league action next Sunday with another trip to St Albans, this time to face BWSC FC, who currently sit two places above them in the Division Three table.

A single goal after just fifteen minutes proved to be the difference between two clubs that had won all of their league matches so far. Having met pre-season with the visitors coming out on top in a five-goal thriller it was always going to be a tight contest and so it proved. Rovers once again started brightly and had the majority of the possession but on the quarter hour mark, a powerful header from inside their own half bounced over the hesitant defence and allowed Simon Dykyj to lift the ball over stranded keeper Arran Jones and in to the empty net. Jones was to prove himself the star of the show however, pulling off a string of stunning saves after the break that kept the visitors in with a shout and was rightfully awarded the Meyer Office Solutions Player of the Match.
Rovers made a string of substitutions from the hour mark on but the changes ultimately couldn’t help to find an equaliser and the yellows left Welham Green empty handed.
It's on to County Cup action next week when the Rovers travel to AFC Boots having been given a bye in the First Round.

Team Manager Darren Riseley’s ethos for the season has been to “fear no-one” and it was a marker of how well this is now instilled in the players as they demolished their cup opponents from two divisions higher on Sunday.

Having beaten the clubs third side Phoenix A just a couple of weeks ago, Rovers were looking at tougher test in the Intermediate Cup heading south to London Colney. The visitors however, started brightly and had the majority of the possession in the opening fifteen minutes. It was this pressure that led to the opening goal, just three minutes later, when Dlawar Rekar latched onto a poor clearance from the home keeper and smashed the ball home into the unattended net. Expecting a reaction to going behind from their hosts, it was the exact opposite as Kimpton continued to press creating chance after chance. On thirty-eight minutes, Rovers were awarded a free-kick eight yards outside the box, Thomas Bundy stepped up and lashed home an unstoppable strike into the top right hand corner of the net sending the villagers into dreamland, but very mindful that there was still a long way to go. Before the break there was cause for even more celebration when, with just a minute of the half left, Rekar doubled his tally for the day sweeping past several defenders and lifting the ball over the onrushing keeper for an against the odds lead going into half time.

After the break the game became more even with Phoenix creating some chance of their own, but just like in the last few weeks the Rovers defence has seemed impermeable for long periods of time and on the odd occasion it has been breached keeper Arran Jones has been there to thwart any threat, one stunning save of note coming in the first half when he finger tipped a goal bound shot around the post with Rovers just the single goal ahead. Despite chances at both ends the second period remained goalless, the home side coming closest to scoring in the dying minutes when a speculative shot from the left bounced on top of the crossbar, so victory belonged to Kimpton, making it four wins from four for the season so far. Lee Fisher played his first minutes of the season returning from a broken wrist sustained in pre-season and the Meyer Office Solutions Player of the Match was given to two goal hero Rekar. It’s back to league action next week when Rovers travel to table toppers Little Heath Reserves looking to maintain their 100% start to life in the new league.
