Shottermill & Haslemere FC The official page of Shottermill & Haslemere F.C. - members of the Surrey County Intermediate League

The club was established in 2001 as a merger of Shottermill and Haslemere. The new club initially played in the Surrey County Senior League, taking over from Shottermill's league position. They joined the Combined Counties League when it formed a new Division One in 2003. In 2006 they left the CCL and dropped into the Premier Division of the Surrey County Intermediate League (Western).

Just one game this week.
First team away to Hambledon, expecting a very tough game against a good side that have a couple of familiar faces. Greg Lyall Jake Kennett

Tricky time of year for the mere, the firsts haven’t played for two weeks, a 2-0 defeat away at Horsell FC on the 6th.

No game for the reserves again after their country cup game with Richmond & Kew was postponed again last week. Reserves now not played since 8th November.

It’s also the last game of the year with both teams hopefully back in action on 3rd January.

Despite best efforts to get the game on, due to the rain overnight, the reserve game has been postponed.

⚽️FIXTURES⚽️

🌧️ The last few weeks of rain has seen the season turn a little stop start but hoping to get both teams a fixture this week.

The firsts are in league action, away against Horsell FC.

🏆 With the reserves due to play Richmond & Kew FC 23's in the Surrey FA junior county cup. Venue is undecided with pitch inspections due tomorrow to determine which pitch gives us the best chance of playing.

The first team exited the league cup after an entertaining game finished 5-6 on penalties.
Starting on a dubious surface the mere took the lead but went into the break 1-1. It was Harts turn to take the lead but they failed hang on, Mere equaling to make it 2-2. With neither side finding a winner in the last 10 it was straight to penalties.
In almost darkness and with little grass left on the pitch the penalties didn’t disappoint, Hart racing 2 ahead but missing their forth and fifth the mere drew level 3-3 after the first 5. It took another 3 in sudden death to separate the sides with Hart eventually through to the next round.
A really entertaining game with both sides playing some good football despite the terrible conditions and really poor pitch.
Good luck to Hart United FC in the mext round.

Another week’s rest for the reserves after the first and reserve team had games postponed last week.
Weather and rearranged fixtures scuppered those fixtures, however this week Worplesdon Phoenix FC reserves were unable to raise a side.
We wish them luck and hope to get the game rescheduled. Unfortunately it’s becoming more common at our level.
Despite FA figures men’s grassroots is struggling, an estimated 2600 clubs have folded post Covid!

First team are back in action tomorrow after last week’s postponed game.

They take on one of the leagues early pacesetters in the league cup. Usually playing on an artificial surface, a trip to the rec might will be slightly different proposition for them😂.

⚽️Cup win for reserves⚽️
The reserves go through to the next round after a penalty win against Horsley First team.
Leading at half term through a brilliant strike Horsley came out after the break and really put the pressure on.
Despite digging in, a few injuries and changes disrupted the team a little and Horsley grabbed a deserved equaliser with 20 minutes left.
Neither team could find a winner so it was straight to penalties. The mere looked to be going out after missing the first two but somehow from 2-0 in the shoot out they found a way, thanks in large to stand in keeper, skipper and man of the match Harvey Beard. The clubs newest Roy of the rovers even brings his own cheer leaders. 👏🏻💪🏼🍻
