Due to me being a bit stupid and in a rush at the end of last year, I made a MK1 tank for the RS250. It does fit both the MK1 and MK2, but it is just sitting here right now and needs a couple of days to check it over and finish off the mounting posts etc.
If anyone wants this tank in clear lacquer and it is fully sealed inside too.. Then its £1050 plus shipping. If you want the tank painting that can be done for a price, that extra cost is down to the painter and you can have it done how you want if needed.

Once this one is gone, I can make more of them to order with a 3 to 4 week lead time and they typically take 10 days to make with a 2 to 4 week lead time for the painter to do the clear coat or paint..

NEW PRODUCT UPDATE...

I am about to start work on getting fuel tanks for the Yamaha TZR250 3MA. I have been asked on one of the Facebook groups to do this and I have hit the target number of names I need to hit my break even point to allow me to justify doing this tank.

Anyone who has not seen this group post and group poll can still add their name here and message me with the first line saying "3MA TANK" so I can find your message among any of the other messages I get.

The tank price has not been finalised as I still need to check what is needed and any issues that could mean I have to include other items like a fuel cap with the tank. But currently I am estimating £1100 for the tank in clear coat. Paint and decals can be added if needed as I use a very good painter to do this work and Graham at The Image Works would supply any decals needed. The cost of paint/decals will depend on your needs and would be added to the balance once completed.

The guys on the 3MA facebook group would be first on the list for tanks being made so you can either go to that group and add your name there, although I will ask for a small 30% deposit when the mould is being made in that first batch. This is just to ensure the mould cost is covered and that the first batch orders will be done on a first come first served basis and you place in the list is secure.

Once this first batch is done any new orders would need a 50% deposit for the tank, paid when I am about to start work on your individual tank and not before.

Once we start work on the moulds, I will post updates for the work.

OK guys. FINALLY back with a workshop that is up and running..

Anyone who has messaged me asking about fuel tanks or parts in the past few months please contact me again via messenger as I had a lot of questions if I am still making parts, spam and other assorted messages. I have a couple of tanks which were ordered before the New Year, when I had to breakdown the old workshop ready for the move. I am starting those this week so anyone who has asked for a tank but not paid a deposit, please message me..

Its been a very stressful and intense start to the year and the past 4 weeks setting up a new workshop has been some long days getting it ready and trying to get a couple of really urgent jobs done in an unfinished workshop was a challenge.

The workshop is almost sorted now. Just got to get the sink and hot water plumbed in then I can fit the cabinets in place. The oven is being run for the first time after it has been given a calibration run last this week.

Not bad getting it 95% done in 20 days on my own from an empty space with concrete floor to a workshop I can finally call a nice workspace.

A quick rundown of the workshop.

Halfords workshop flooring was put down as an insulation layer then a Garage Workshop Company floor was put down.

The oven was rebuilt and wired up. All of the internals for the oven had to be put back in and wired up too. While that was being done it was a good idea to add some extra insulation inside the oven as well as a soft floor using some of the Halfords floor tiles and I used some on the oven walls so if any moulds bumped into the walls when I put them in it would help avoid damaging the vacuum bags.

A new deeper bench was ordered and a composite worktop fitted instead of the usual MDF top provided with the bench. The old bench is now being set up as a vacuum bagging area. The vacuum pump is now on a smart switch so it can be voice activated and tucked out of the way.

SGS supplied the cabinets with a large double cabinet, double width 7 drawer cabinet and a sink unit with several over head lockers and wooden worktop. These are in place but I am now waiting for the plumber to fit an undersink water heater and drainage so I can be pretty much be self contained and make cups of tea whenever I want too..

The roll cab will be used when I get awkward or heavy CNC machined resin tooling moulds so I can work around the mould without having to move it around and I can then wheel the mould next to the oven and not need to carry a mould that can be up to 90Kg to the oven and risk damaging the vacuum bag too.

It is almost my dream workshop now. I have loads of space,loads of storage, easy to keep clean and not have all of my resins and loads of tools just sitting under the bench getting dusty.

Tomorrow is the first time I see how well the oven calibration has worked and if I need to make any changes to the program now it is much better insulated than it was in the old workshop..

Day 2 done. Workshop flooring is finished,all bar near the garage door which needs to be plained as it rubs on the threshold anyway. It will take 20 minutes once the door is done. Tomorrow is the day the boxes and furniture arrive along with much of what was in the garage and my two roll cabs. I will hire a van to get the oven and as much workshop stuff as I can so I can get back working as soon as possible.

So we have finally moved house.. It was a bit fraught and stressful for almost everyone in the chain with the ones at the top of the chain dictating the pace and not informing anyone of anything until the very last minute. So a move which could/should have happened mid January ended up being all confirmed less than a week before they needed to move out into their new build house.

So my priority is getting my workshop up and running as fast as possible. It's a very nice space and so much larger than I have been used to. Now being large can be a bit of a problem keeping it warm enough for my work, but it's really well insulated and to be sure I have done as much as possible to help keep it warm I have used the cheap Halfords workshop tiles as an foam insulation barrier between the much more hard wearing heavy duty workshop tiles I will be putting down tomorrow.

Day one in the house has been busy, but it needs to be done..

OK guys it has been a while since I posted any updates of work or even what we are doing currently....
So here is an update.. At the beginning of October last year we got an offer to buy our house and found somewhere to move to. Everything moves at it's own glacial pace it seems but we were told it is typically 3 months for everything to be completed. This gave us until the end of December or early January for the move to be completed. I had some work for another company which I do work for from time to time, which took me though until mid December to complete. I then spent the Christmas period to breakdown the workshop and move it all into storage close to the new location.
Due to issues further up the chain (The chain a British thing with house sales where there may be 4 or 5+ houses all relying on the sale to be completed on the same day and is one fails the whole chain can fail) there have been a lot of delays and as of now there is still no actual contracted move date. But we are working for the end of the month with about 2 to 3 weeks to be back to normal in the new workshop.
The new workshop is going to be significantly larger than the workshop I have been working out of for the past 10 years or so. The capacity of what I will be able to do will only be limited by the oven capacity now and not my work area.
I do have several orders lined up and the customers know about the move. So I will start taking orders again from mid March.
