We are delighted to welcome Ben to the club. An athletic, powerful defender, Ben made 20 appearances for Premier Division champions Derriaghy CCFC last year scoring an impressive 9 goals, throughout the season.

💔 Everyone at Downshire Football Club was deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Natalie, partner of our close friend and former player, Stephen Farr, following a short illness.

On behalf of our committee, players, coaches and members, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Stevie and the wider family circle at this incredibly difficult time.

Our thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathies are with you all. We send our love and support and hope that, in time, you can find comfort in the many memories shared together.

🔴⚪️ COACHING TEAM ANNOUNCEMENT⚪️🔴

The new gaffer Ryan Garvin has wasted no time putting together a top coaching team.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Jordan Baker, Andy Murdock and Phillip Lucas to our coaching team.

Each coach brings valuable experience, knowledge and enthusiasm to the club, and we are delighted to welcome them as we continue our preparations for the season ahead.

Phillip Lucas (Known as Luco) has worked together with Ryan for the last 5 years at Derriaghy bringing success, professionalism and enthusiasm in abundance.

Jordan brings incredible football experience having played at Portadown, Ballymena, Derriaghy, Glenavy and most recently Finaghy. He has already taken on the player/coach role at Glenavy and Derriaghy and will bring high standards to the group.

Andy has another marvellous football CV. He currently works for the IFA, is a UEFA A coach, has coached abroad and at Portadown, Warrenpoint and most recently Belfast Celtic. He is a student of the game and his attention to detail, makes him another marvellous addition to the team.

We look forward to their contribution both on and off the pitch and wish them every success in their new roles at Downshire YM.

🔴⚪ NEW FIRST TEAM MANAGER - RYAN GARVIN ⚪🔴

Downshire YM FC are delighted to announce the appointment of Ryan Garvin as our new First Team Manager.

Ryan joins the club after an incredible 17 years at Derriaghy CC, where he was heavily involved both on and off the pitch. Over the past decade he has coached across various age groups and teams throughout the club, helping to develop players and build success at every level.
Most recently, Ryan guided Derriaghy's Reserve team to a league title-winning season, demonstrating his ability to build competitive, successful teams.

Adding to his impressive coaching credentials, Ryan has recently completed his UEFA B Licence and arrives at Downshire YM with a clear vision, strong ambition and a real hunger to help drive the club forward.

Speaking on his appointment, Ryan said:
"I'm delighted to join Downshire YM and can't wait to get started. The club has great people involved and a lot of potential. I'm looking forward to meeting the players, building a competitive squad and working hard to bring success to the club."

Thank you Hinsey ❤️ DYMFC

The Committee, players, coaches, volunteers, and supporters of Downshire YMFC would also like to thank Paul "Hinsey" Hinds as he steps back from his role within the First Team set-up.

Throughout the past year, Hinsey has been a loyal support to Paul and the management team, always willing to lend a hand and contribute to the club. A friendly face around Downshire, he has been a fantastic ambassador for the club and a driving force behind many of our events, most recently helping deliver a hugely successful Night at the Races.

His commitment, enthusiasm, and support will be greatly missed around the club.

On behalf of everyone at Downshire YMFC, we thank Hinsey for his efforts and friendship and wish him every success in the future. He will always be welcome at Downshire.
