Don't waste these long hot summer days!

With Highworth tennis club courts available to book all summer long from just £6 an hour*, there can't be many cheaper options for things to do with your family or friends during the summer!

*That's just £1.50 per person for a game of doubles!

N.B. you will need rackets and some tennis balls to play but you definitely don't need to be a member of the club (although we are really nice people, honest!). You certainly don't need expensive gear, just a pair of old shorts and trainers will be fine, and if you're worried you can't (or don't know how to) play, please don't panic, the dogs being walked on the rec are always grateful for a few balls over the fence! This photo of two people playing tennis on the wings of an airplane may seem fake, but apparently this did happen. Two daredevils, Gladys Roy and Ivan Unger, performed this stunt 3,280 feet above Los Angeles in November of 1925.
Both Roy and Unger were “wing walkers” or “barnstormers” who regularly performed similar stunts at various events across the United States. This particular stunt was performed on the wings of a Curtiss JN Jenny plane piloted by Jack Tomac.
