You never regret the workout you nearly talked yourself out of. 🧡

Friday workout done. Weights lifted. Head clearer. Energy better.

It’s not about being perfect or smashing every workout.

It’s about showing up for yourself — especially on the days when you don’t really feel like it.

Strong body. Strong mind. More energy for life.

That’s Impact Fitness. 🧡

Tonight I really didn’t want to go. 🥶⚽️

It was cold. It was getting dark. It was raining.

And after a long day, dragging myself out to football training was definitely not at the top of my list.

But I went.

And honestly? I laughed my way through it. 😂

I started playing women’s football just a few months ago — completely new to me, in my 40s, and very firmly outside my comfort zone.

I’m not particularly good. I’m still learning. I still have absolutely no idea what I’m doing half the time. 😂

But I LOVE it.

And that’s the bit I want to remind women about…

You don’t have to wait until you’re fitter, stronger, more confident or “good enough” to try something new.

You’re allowed to be a beginner.

You’re allowed to feel uncomfortable.

You’re allowed to be rubbish at something and still have the BEST time doing it.

Because fitness in midlife isn’t just about changing your body.

It’s about building a body and a mindset that lets you say:

“Why not?”

Try the class.
Join the team.
Lift the weights.
Run the race.
Learn something completely new.

Get out of your comfort zone.

Have a laugh.

And keep surprising yourself. 🧡

That’s what I want Impact Fitness to be about — helping women feel strong, capable and confident enough to LIVE their lives, not just work on their bodies.

I’d keep this simple if you’re feeling overwhelmed…

If there’s one nutrition habit I’d encourage every busy mum to focus on, it’s eating more protein.

Not because you need to become a bodybuilder.
Not because you have to track every gram.
But because it can make such a difference to how you feel.

Protein helps to:
💪 Build and maintain muscle
✨ Keep you feeling fuller for longer
⚡ Support steady energy levels throughout the day
❤️ Help your body recover after exercise

As a general guide, aim for around 20–30g of protein at each meal. If you’re exercising regularly or trying to build strength, you may benefit from a little more.

Simple ways to increase your intake:
🥚 Eggs at breakfast
🥣 Greek yoghurt with berries and nuts
🍗 Chicken or turkey at lunch
🐟 Fish a couple of times a week
🧀 Cottage cheese as a snack
🥤 A protein shake when life gets hectic

Remember… you don’t have to be perfect.

If your breakfast usually has 5g of protein, don’t worry about suddenly hitting 30g tomorrow. Just ask yourself, “How can I add a little more?”

Small changes, repeated consistently, are what create long-term results.

I’d love to know… what’s your favourite high-protein snack? 👇
