⚠️ URGENT: Help us protect archery ranges before 13 January! 🏹

We have one week to save our spaces. The Government is proposing to remove Sport England as a statutory consultee for planning applications.

Why does this matter? Sport England is the only expert voice legally required to protect sports grounds and champion active spaces for disabled people. Without them, archery clubs - which often lack the funds or staff to fight legal planning battles - are at risk of being squeezed out by developers.

Since August alone, Sport England has helped support four archery clubs from losing their homes. Removing them puts our community at risk.

The good news? Sport England rarely blocks housing (objecting to only 0.001% of applications), so keeping them protects us without stopping new homes.

WE NEED YOU:
1️⃣ Sign the petition: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/735586
2️⃣ Email the consultation: Use the pre-filled template here: https://sportandrecreation.org.uk/campaigns-and-policy/campaigns-and-influencing/protect-where-we-play

Deadline: 13 January 2026. Don’t let our clubs disappear.

Today we completed our 2 day Beginners Archery Course, attendees learned all the basics of shooting a bow safely from our club coaches Neill, Terrence and Imran. We ended the course with a mini competition which brought out the competitive nature in some of the participants.
