Kensham Farms Riding & Arena

Kensham Farms Riding & Arena Kensham Farms is a family farming partnership at Cadmore End, near High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.

Kensham Farms is a family run partnership which was started by Bryan and Alison Edgley in 1955. At that time it was a standard mixed farm covering just over 100 acres. In the 1960s the main enterprises at Kensham Farms were milk production from a herd of Friesian cows, egg production (selling eggs both wholesale and retail) and production of grain for use in home milled and mixed poultry and cattl

e feeds. The dairy cows were sold in 1971 and egg production ceased in 1992. Charlie Edgley joined the partnership in 1985 and has greatly expanded the arable cropping side of the business. Today many redundant farm buildings have been converted for use as craft and light industrial workshops rented by local small businesses. Riding Permits have been sold to local horse owners for over 20 years covering 10km of beautiful Chilterns AONB.

Thanks Gerry (https://www.youtube.com/) for sharing this footage of harvest at Ham Farm, Piddington! ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿš๐ŸŽฅ

It has been a disappointing harvest (yields are down 30% on the 10 year average) due to the spring drought but our dedicated team have been working tirelessly to bring it in quickly and safely.

Final fields at West Wycombe and Saunderton to go (once the sun comes back)! ๐Ÿ˜Žโ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ

Bolter End Common Tree Works ๐ŸŒณ
Ash Dieback, an awful disease that will kill 80% of the ash trees in Britain, has sadly infected many trees alongside the B482 Finings Road.

The contractor, South Bucks Tree Surgeons, received planning permission on 4th December 2024 under reference 24/07313/TPO to safely fell those trees that could have posed a risk to the public highway.

Thank you for your patience while they carry out this essential work that will hopefully conclude by Wednesday 5th March 2025 .

British farmers were blindsided by the budget on 30th October. Farming families have spent the last few decades investing in their businesses with the knowledge that the next generation can pick up the mantle and run. In a few short minutes, the Chancellor has destroyed this belief and set a course that will have disastrous consequences for rural communities and food production.

Farms operate on wafer thin margins, on average 0.5% return on capital. The growers of your daily bread, glass of milk, slice of cheese, meat and veg do so as a vocation, with passion and care, not to make a quick buck.

Farmers are coming together to make our voices heard in Westminster and ask you to lend yours too ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿšœ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

Please show your support calling for government to overturn this family farm tax and add your name today.
