Xtreme HipHop STEP
FRIDAY 24TH MARCH
6.30 pm - 7.30 pm
Fairford Leys Community Centre, Aylesbury.
COME JOIN US for cardio, step-board, hip-hop RnB, dancehall music, and bring your swag.
It will be a HIGH IMPACT class so if you want to sweat out your stresses and have fun, book your step.
We have combined Xtreme cardio, the step board, hip-hop music, and lots of swag to provide our participants with a fresh spin on an old concept. We are making STEP great again. Whether participants are beginners, advanced, old, or young they all want a unique but effective workout regimen. This class will provide a safe and fun space to get your body and mind moving.
Movement is a powerful communicator. To move is to feel the gift of life running through our body, through movement we directly experience the joy of each breath.
As the body and breath move so does the mind. It starts to clear blocks that normally lock us into fixed emotional and psychological patterns. It moves us from 'I can't'to 'I CAN.'
Moving the body helps open up communication between feelings and actions. The more we move the body beyond its habitual routine, we can start to loosen the energy on both the physical and psycho/emotional levels. It starts to release tensions in the body which releases them in the mind.
Movement don't just improve the physical body, it develops our concentration, purpose and sensitivity. It starts to release old patterns of physical behaviour and allows the mind and body to find the peace within.
We begin to move from 'I can't control this' to 'this is what I can control.'
The things we can't control:

β’ what others say/do/think/feel
β’ the News
β’ past experiences
However, the things we can control:
β’ what we say about ourself and do for ourself
β’ our choices
β’ how we eat/drink/move our body
β’ our priorities
There's no denying, problems will arise but we can control how we respond and where we place our focus. I have found, putting my energies into what I can control has been empowering. It has increased my self-esteem and given me confidence in my ability to make better choices for myself.
I am not a certified mental practitioner or a general practitioner, and I don't claim to be one. If you are experiencing and suffering from severe depression or other mental illnesses, I advise you to seek professional support. I speak from a place of lived experience and a lifelong student of bringing peace, joy and self-love to the mind, body and spirit. I call it Ma'at.
I know what it feels like to be sad, depressed and angry. I also know what it feels like to be happy, content, joyous and loving towards myself. This is why you will always hear me say, "moving the body, moves the mind."
Your fitness is 100% mental. Your body wont go where your mind wont take it.
It's all about mental wellbeing in my classes!
