Cleaning the solar panels feels like it’s going to be one of those never-ending jobs 🙈☀️🧽

But we do have a bigger plan…

Eventually, we want to move all the solar panels off the roof and create a proper little solar farm away from the house on the land. ☀️🌿

That means we can add more panels, have a dedicated plant room for all the equipment and hopefully make the whole setup much easier to manage.

Another job for the very long Casa Hermosa list 😂

For now though… back to cleaning them! 🧽☀️

So here we are… just having a moment. 🥹🌅

Sunsets always make me emotional, but tonight this one hit a little differently.

Standing here, looking out at this view, it suddenly hit us that although we’re not living here yet… we are SO, SO close. 🇪🇸🤍

After all the dreaming, planning, stress, chaos and “are we actually doing this?!” moments… it IS going to happen.

One day, this won’t be somewhere we have to leave.

This will just be home. 🏡🇪🇸

And I think tonight, for the first time, that really sank in. 🥹

Well… turns out the sangria worked 🍹😂 WE GOT THE SIGN UP! 🙌

Casa Hermosa 🤍🇪🇸

And there’s actually a little story behind the name…

8 years ago, when I started my business, I called it Hermosa. I chose the name partly because it fitted perfectly with my line of work — Hermosa means beautiful in Spanish ✨

But I was also secretly future-proofing it… just in case one day I ended up bringing the business to Spain. 🇪🇸

Funny how life works, because 8 years later we’ve bought our forever home here and Hermosa has found its place in Spain after all. 🥹🤍

Granted, Casa Hermosa isn’t looking quite so hermosa yet 😂🙈… but give us time!

One day she’ll live up to her name. 🤍✨

I’m not bossy… I just know what the f*%k I’m doing 😂💪

At this point, I’ve stopped waiting for someone else to do the jobs and just started doing them myself 🤣

Villa renovation is really unlocking skills I never knew I had… whether that’s a good thing or not remains to be seen! 🇪🇸😂

A late afternoon trying to tick a few more jobs off the list before heading out to a new tapas restaurant we’ve found 🇪🇸✨

The sign was seriously testing my patience 😤😂… so we decided a break and a few sangrias were needed 🍹 Safe to say, all was good with the world again!

Then off to Bar Mucho and what a find 🙌 The food was DELISH, the atmosphere was great and we’re so happy to have somewhere like this right on our doorstep ❤️

But… no escaping the villa jobs for too long 😂

🌿 W**d killer down
✨ Bathroom FINALLY gleaming
🕷️ Apparently we now have a pet spider
🎆 And we finished the night watching the fiesta fireworks from our own garden

DIY, tapas, sangria & fireworks… I could definitely get used to this Spanish life 🇪🇸☀️

Another day of villa renovation chaos 🇪🇸😂

Up and out early trying to sort yesterday’s water pipe disaster 💦🙈

Then we discovered something in the shed… and still haven’t quite got to the bottom of that one 👀😳

🔧 Bought a new power tool, so we can finally start getting stuck into some proper work
🧹 More cleaning… because apparently that job NEVER ends
📏 And measuring the perimeter ready for more plans

Slowly but surely, we’re getting there… although this villa definitely likes to keep us on our toes 😂

A long video today… but we actually get some work done! 🙌🇪🇸

Although, as always with this villa, nothing quite goes to plan 😂

⚡ Measured up ready for the electrics
🤍 Our new garden furniture arrived
🌿 Got stuck into some jobs outside
💦 And then he managed to hit a water pipe with the strimmer 🙈

Cue Carly to the rescue 🦸‍♀️😂

Another busy day at the villa 🇪🇸☀️
Lots of cleaning, measuring up and ticking jobs off the list ✔️
📮 PO Box finally set up
🛍️ More junk shop hunting
☀️ Solar panels cleaned
🪑 Bought the furniture I fell in love with 😍
🧹 And yet MORE cleaning… because apparently that's our life now 😂
Then it was time for a well-earned pit stop at the caravan site for some tea 🍽️🍻
Slowly but surely, we're getting there… one job (and one junk shop) at a time! 🤍

Slow morning today after making the mistake of having a few drinks last night... 🙈🍷
Today's jobs are all about making plans, ticking off the boring bits, and doing a little shopping.
Fingers crossed we'll finally find some mattresses and furniture too, so the villa starts feeling a bit more like home. 🏡🇪🇸
One step closer to turning this place into our dream home. ❤️
