Ok, so yet another startup video of the V4😝 it's making progress honestly! I have to remind myself how much experimental stuff there is on the bike, and when things don't work there's often quite literally nobody else to ask - I get blank stares from people regularly. However, on this occasion things have worked out differently! I've been struggling to get the air clutch to react quickly and consistently enough to work, it was just too slow, and for a while i contemplated having to dump the idea completely and go for a simple mechanical clutch which is easier said than done, and would undoubtedly require pretty much a new chassis and complete rethink. NO!! So anyway, i reached out to Mark Harrison at Horsepower Factory, Mark has experience from setting up the clutch on the Storm Funnybike and was happy to help. So today we tried a new setup in the Maxxecu and what a transformation! It's gone from reacting too slow to actually too fast! .... which is brilliant and much more reassuring when it comes to the thought of riding it, it needs some tweaking still, but my hopes that it might work have been restored 😁 Still no burnout (sorry), but it's teetering on the edge ..... honestly.
In other news, the wizard dry sump conversion is making small steps, the oil pump mount is made, and the piggyback fuel pump drive is finished. Now to make 5 bespoke fittings for the oil pump to enable plumbing in and out - it's tight!
