Tomorrow’s classes will start at 11am, in class order for the showing ring.

Tack and turnout, followed by best combination, show me your tricks, best hunting pony then horse and hound. Our showing classes are very kindly sponsored by The Nixon Family at Little Whittington XC.

Handy pony will run all day from 12pm. Showjumping will be in ring two, starting with the littlies and working up to the bigger heights from 12pm.

Games will go in littlies to older ones order from approx 1:30pm. Games are very kindly sponsored by Cath Walton pre training & sales, Wark.

ENTRIES ON THE DAY ARE ACCEPTED (£10 per class, £7 if you’ve made pre entries to other classes). Children do not need a number bib!

Dog show entries can be placed at the caravan, aiming to start approx 1pm.

Food and drinks can be bought on the day (cash please due to signal!).

Racing Welfare are hosting a rounders competition at Hexham Racecourse. It’s teams of 7, teams can be mixed. There will be food and refreshments, spectators welcome!

Although this comes a little later than planned, our committee has been busy with the Northumberland County Show and other fundraising events, so we wanted to take a moment to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Haydon P2P such a tremendous success. 💙🐎

We were once again blessed with glorious sunshine and it was wonderful to welcome 254 guests to enjoy hospitality on the day.

The racing provided plenty of excitement across all six races, with all of our Haydon junior and senior jockeys putting in excellent performances. The day could not have ended on a better note, with committee member Charlotte celebrating victory in the final race.

First and foremost, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to all of our sponsors. Your generous support is vital to the success of the event and we are incredibly grateful for your continued commitment.

We would also like to thank everyone who attended, supported, volunteered, helped behind the scenes and contributed in any way.

We look forward to seeing you again next year.

Hollywood Harman wins the Ladies Open under Pippa Brown

Back down in grade and carrying much less weight than she had been in hunter chases earlier this season, Hollywood Harmon (Pippa Brown) got back on the winning trail in the 2m4f Insync Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic Ladies Open Race. Given a positive ride, the nine-year-old made all the running and, despite being hard pressed on both sides in a driving finish, was always doing enough to see off a determined challenge from Second Subaltern (Venetia Thompson) by a neck, with the rallying Watch Law (Joanna Walton) a neck away in third.

The winner is owned and trained by Brandsby-based Alexander Wilson, who said: ‘’She loves Cartmel and might head there next for a Hunters’ Chase on May 27.’’

Unfortunately, since this interview, The British Horseracing Authority (BHA) mandated that all Hunter Chase events from May 20th onwards will not go ahead, due to a significant outbreak of Equine Influenza.

Our committee were delighted to see Morpeth trainer Kate Leckenby in the winners enclosure this weekend! 🏆

Orderly claimed the win in the Jacksons Of Hexham Maiden Race under Paddy Barlow - congratulations to all connections. 🏇

Long time leader Claramount (Amy Milburn) was headed after three out by Yuledoforme (Jack Teal), with Orderly handily placed just off the pace. Yuledoforme and Orderly then had a prolonged duel from the last before Barlow’s mount edged in front inside the last fifty yards to score by half-a-length, with the same margin back to Boolamore Glory (Hannah Wainwright) in third. The winner’s next assignment is likely to be at this week’s Goffs UK Doncaster Sales. When asked how she acquired the four-year-old, who ran in a Punchestown Maiden three weeks ago, Kate replied: ‘’He came from the same source as Hardy Oscar, and it’s not what you know but who you know.’’
