Come and join us for our annual open event on the weekend of 13th & 14th September. We will again host the ILCA Lakeland & Borders series (13th), and Catapults class along with an open handicap class. 3 races per day, separate starts. ILCA welcome to stay and join our handicap racing in the Sunday. Free camping onsite, bar and galley open all weekend, BYO BBQ on the Saturday evening. For more details please see our website:

This year, we welcome back the ILCA’s to Kielder for their Lakeland & Border Series (Saturday 13th Sept). This event will also incorporate a Catapult Class open, and we will also host a general handicap event,open to all other dinghy classes with PY handicaps.

A big shout out to any more folks who’d like to watch this flotilla of sail from the ferry to book before it is too late, places are limited. This is an annual joint event between the two clubs with family and friends welcome so if you don’t have a friend in either club yet then better get up to the sailing club behind Tower Knowe on a weekend and get to know some folks and perhaps even think about joining the club for year round fun on and off thd water! Hi all, this Sunday 11th June we will have our next race training day, led by our Commodore, Richard Purdy. All members are welcome to attend being rigged and ready at 10:30am. Richard intends to cover best practices for race start lines, rules for rounding marks and an overview on being a race officer. We will do a bit onshore first then some short races on the water, possibly after lunch. Of course members can also come and do their own thing!

Dinghy Sailing: the Kielder Collection of short races is a series in a day so you can come and make some mistakes and discard some results and still maybe get a good result overall and enjoy an awards ceremony at the end of the day!
Either day all club members are of course welcome to come and sail their own boats or boards and there's so much going on if you get in bother within sight of the club someone will come and help from one of our volunteer patrol boats! Just make sure to 'tell someone ashore' if you're doing your own thing!

Saturday is Young Sailors and there is also an opportunity for those who are thinking about taking up sailing to take a taster session with an experienced sailor! Sunday our instructors have their important annual day for continuing professional development. They will be using one or more patrol boats so if members want to sail while there are experienced sailors and rescuers around do feel free to come up and use the club, though the instructors day will of course need priority access to some of the club equipment and facilities.

Coming up on the 14th May - the third day of the Spring Series of short sailing races! A great way to improve your sailing skills within easy reach of the club, safety boat cover and great company. This event will involve 4 short races - two either side of lunch but participants can join in as few or many as they like! Coming up on Coronation Weekend!

The King's Coronation Parade of Sail & celebration is on Saturday 6th Mayin partnership with the Yacht Club.

The bar will be open for members and their guests with 9 gallons of Pennine Pacific to quench the thirst of sailors, ancient and modern!
