Final game of this campaign for the boys against a Durham squad on a windy day at Sacriston.

The boys had to be up early today and maybe a little early, Durham were up and ready and found themselves comfortably ahead after the opening minutes.
This lads started to play some really tough competitive footy shortly after really getting stuck in and for a decent period the better team. This lead to chance after chance and by half time actually could have levelled had certain chances fell for them. Benji did find himself back on score sheet. Real baller!

Second half was a better game and the lads found counter attacking football worked excellent for them with second goal for Benji rounding the keeper on a couple of occasions scoring on one of them.

Jack in the nets had his on highlight real of saves top draw keeper not often you see those saves in kids footy.

Little break now for the boys, time to regroup enjoy Easter and have some fun!

Well done to Jack and Benji for MoM performances at both ends of the pitch. Settled in to the team really well.

Firstly, a warm welcome to the team Benji.
With a free week we organised a friendly against a strong opposition in Washington Utd Blues.

We started the game brightly playing some decent football, creating chances that both Benji and Charlie hit the post with. We went ahead before half time following a brilliant run and finish from Benji.

Second half was a different story unfortunately as our good play dried up, Washington deservedly equalising early in the half. We did go 2-1 up following another goal from Benji, rounding the keeper. Washington continued to play the better football though and drew level again before taking the lead to eventually win 3-2.

Overall a good challenge against a decent team. Man of the match went to Benji. Two brilliant goals and a great work ethic on his debut.
Thanks again for your positive support from the touchline.

Another tough game for the lads against CLS lionesses.

A few position changes today to give the boys some experience of playing elsewhere on the pitch, which we’ll continue to do as the season goes on.
The girls took a deserved early lead following some good play and added a second later in the first half to lead 2-0 at HT. Stand outs in the first half were Isaac on the right of defence and Jack making some cracking saves to keep the score down as to just 2.

Second half we made more changes to positions and we played some better counter attacking football this half and we could have got a couple of goals ourselves.

The girls added a 3rd towards the end from a free kick. Another tough challenge against a very physical but also talented team.

MOTM this week went to Jack in goal. Some excellent saves and top notch handling throughout.

Game 6 match report

An away game today against familiar faces, Farra Detached, warmly welcomed and good crack throughout.

Well the lads came straight out of the traps competitive heads were on today that’s for sure, played some tidy football in the middle with Jack, Joshua, Riley and Tom. Charlie keen as too until an unfortunate ball to the face ended his game, very brave to get back up and support his team until the end 👏🏻.
Very tough from then on but lads stepped up to the challenge battling with 9 only no subs no rest.
Max was switched up top and caused bother for the defence all half creating chances and opportunities for attacks, one of which lead to a Jack free kick, first true opportunity to have a go, and with great effort coming back of the post.
Then a pen awarded just inside the box gave Farra the lead. Great strike after a lot of pressure on our goal.
However after this setback boys didn’t give up Tom and Riley working hard down either wing to press opponents back. Half time approaching and noticeably at this point Matty becoming a young Baresi winning absolutely everything, with Jack Hall stopping all attempts too. See this was going to be a competition for MoM.

Half time 1-0

Tony asked the lads to focus on second ball and keep heads up.
Still very much in it.
Minor changes switching Max to middle Riley up top and Joshua to wing.
All of which helped second half back at it with pressure from the off Max and Jack playing tidy footy in the middle. Big shoutout to Isaac and Luke dealt with a lot of pressure and able to bring the ball forward very well.
An Isaac cross headed on by Riley almost lead to a goal for Joshua, had it land for him sure he’d of hit the target minimum.
Jack at this point truly getting stuck in, found himself with few knocks taking him to the floor but like Jesus before him back up in a crack and smiling 😊.
Last chance right at the end of the game Tom corner with all team in and around the box, had Jack Hall found the net he’d of secured MoM from Matty but wasn’t to be.

Such great game to watch today scoreline could have been much more had it not been for some top draw defending and GK displays

Well done to everyone very enjoyable match.

Well done Matty for your MoM performance best defensive display seen at this level for sure.

Another tough game for the boys on Sunday against a very strong Washington whites team.

We weren’t at our best first half and Washington took advantage of that going into half time 3-0 ahead.

Second half was a different story with much better football from ourselves, topped off with Goal of the season contender from Isaac with a long ranger into the top corner. The boys finished the half strongly, with a goal ruled offside from Jack.

We’re proud of the boys efforts in the second half as they could have easily lost confidence after the first half.

MOTM went to Jack Pattison who had a brilliant game in midfield, his passing and tackling top notch.
