I thought a positive birth experience meant your birth had to go exactly the way you planned, changed my view of that in this conversation.
In this episode, I spoke with Debbie about what a positive birth experience really looks like beyond the stereotypes we often see online.
And one thing she said really stayed with me:
“It doesn’t matter what kind of birth happens… they’ll still come back and go, ‘Actually, that was a really positive experience.’”
Because positive birth isn’t defined by how it happens (home birth, hospital birth, induction, or caesarean)...
it’s defined by how you experience it.
Feeling informed.
Feeling supported.
Feeling listened to.
Feeling involved in decisions about your body and your baby.
That’s what changes everything.
If you’re pregnant, preparing for birth, or supporting someone who is, this conversation is for you. Mindset and information matter just as much as the plan.
