Special Summers

Special Summers Summer activity day camp for children with special needs. An specialist holiday club for children with additional needs. Ages 5-14 years.

Activities include painting, cooking, trips out, messy play, music, sports and more fun! All staff have specialist knowledge of working with children with additional needs. Including a qualified SENCO teacher and SEN teaching assistants. Lunch can be provided including sandwiches, crisps, fruit and yoghurts (alternatives can be provided for allergy sufferers). Snacks and drinks provided throughout the day.

Unfortunately due to a variety of reasons we are unable to run Special Summers this year.

Thank you to all of our loyal customers and to our lovely staff for all your support. We've had lots and lots of fun over the past few years!!

Hopefully see you all in the not too distant future!

Unfortunately we have some sad news. As a result of lack of an appropriate venue we are unable to go ahead with Special Summers this year!

We have been holding off to try and find somewhere but due to a variety of reasons including having building work done, we have been unable to secure anywhere appropriate for the summer.

So sorry to let you all down but hopefully we will be back in 2023!

What a lovely day we had playing different sports! We played lots of different parachute games, penalty shoot outs, games of duck, duck, goose and other playground games and generally tired ourselves out running around non-stop!

This year might have been more tough with COVID restrictions but the children really enjoyed their time playing, building new friendships and being able to relax and enjoy themselves with us.

What a lovely couple of weeks it has been and hopefully next year will be free from all COVID difficulties!!

Pirates and princesses!!!

Today the children have painted their faces, put on temporarily tattoos (they will remove with baby oil!) and dressed as pirates and princesses!

They have been on a treasure hunt for gold coins, drawn treasure maps, made swords and Princess wands.

Well that's the end of week 1!

Hopefully your children are as exhausted but as happy as all of the staff are 😁.

Today we did a LOT of messy play! We went ice fishing in Arendelle, made pretend ice creams, played 'splat the Disney characters', made buns, threw water balloons at Disney villains and made mummies out of the staff!!

Firstly - apologies to all parents for the rushed pick up!! The children had such fun in the water that it was really difficult to get them out in time!!

Also apologies for the amounts of wet clothes that have been sent home!

On that note - just a plea to all parents. Could you try and label everything you can think of? The children get very excited and take off all shoes/jumpers and dump them all over and it's a bit tricky to remember whose items are whose.

What a day!!

Today we have built dens out of cardboard boxes, towers from spaghetti and marshmallows and played many, many games of Jenga and musical statues!

1 more sleep!!

The venue has had a HUGE amount of toys dropped off and we are awaiting a delivery of soft play from Airplay Bouncy Castles Castles tomorrow! :D

Please bear with us at drop off tomorrow it might be slightly busy as lots of grown ups have some forms to sign which might take a bit longer than the rest of the week.

The parking at the venue is slightly limited. You can also park in front of some shops next door briefly to drop off or there is a car park for the shops across the road.
