Pilates doesn’t have to be all concentration and control. Sometimes it’s about letting go and having fun too.

After a structured warm-up and preparation phase, we spent 20 minutes on the jump board today.

The result?
❤️ Elevated heart rate
❤️ Challenged coordination
❤️ Stronger body
❤️ Bigger smile all round

Because movement you enjoy is movement you’ll keep doing. ❤️

You have 10 minutes before your first client what 3 exercises do you choose to do? These are my 3 picks for this morning 😍 No perfectly executed but just what I need before teaching a day of 121’s. Whatever you choose just enjoy the movement and connecting with your body. ❤️

I train 4–5 times a week and not one session looks the same.

Some days I do Pilates. Some days I lift weights. Some days I work with my PT. And most days I walk my two dogs in the fresh air.

I encourage my clients to do the same.

Your Pilates sessions shouldn’t compete with the rest of your training — they should support it. Helping you move better, recover better, feel stronger and stay more connected to your body through all the other things you enjoy doing.

If you’d like to find out how private Pilates sessions can support your other fitness routines, feel free to contact me for a chat. 💪🏻❤️

One of my favourite parts of teaching is that I’m still learning too.

I recently did a class with that focused on a really clever visual/tactile cue for helping clients understand pelvic placement on the reformer.

I used it in sessions today and the difference was instant.
That moment when something finally clicks in someone’s body is always the best part.

A big thank you to for the continued education and for sharing tools that help me teach in a way that feels clearer, simpler and more effective for my clients.
This is why it’s so important as teachers to work on our own practice with teachers that you can continue to grow and learn from. Teachers need Teachers ❤️

People often think Pilates has to be big classes, complicated choreography or pushing through discomfort.

It doesn’t.

1:1 and 2:1 sessions are for people who want more attention, more understanding of their body and a programme that actually fits them.

Whether you’re dealing with stiffness, injuries, posture issues, stress, lack of confidence or simply want to move better… having tailored sessions changes everything.

No trying to keep up.
No feeling lost in the room.
No guessing if you’re doing it right.

Just focused movement, proper support and space to learn what your body needs.

Some clients come to get stronger.
Some come because their body feels tired from work, sport or life.
Some just want one hour to themselves again.

That’s why I love teaching this way.

If you need reminding that looking after yourself now is also looking after your future self too this is it! 121 & 221 Reformer, Tower and mat Pilates in Bayford Sg13 8PR. ❤️

Another full weekend of teaching — from complete beginners to more advanced bodies. And the question stays the same: what does your body need today?

Some days it’s strength, energy, push.
Some days it’s slower, more restorative, reconnecting to breath and control.

Pilates isn’t about chasing the burn. You’ll feel the work (and yes, there might be a shake or two), but you shouldn’t be leaving wiped out.

If this sounds like what your body needs right now, come and join me in my studio in Bayford which is just a 5 minute drive outside of Hertford. 💜

You should walk out feeling taller through your spine, stronger where it matters, and a bit lighter in your head from actually switching off and focusing on yourself for an hour.

Ben from gave my studio equipment a full service and super fit bill of health. Safety is always in the forefront of my mind when I am teaching so it’s super important to me that the equipment is safe for use. Ben’s service was very thorough - he took the reformer apart, cleaning all of the moving parts and checking for wear and tear. I’m pleased to say that he was impressed with how clean they were and well maintained. 😊 Thanks Ben - see you the same time next year!

Snake can look like a big, complex and scary move. But in a 1:1 session, we don’t rush to advanced exercises. We build the strength and control needed first giving you the confidence to perform them well.

In these clips:

Video 1 — Long Stretch
Working on shoulder strength, stability and full body control.

Video 2 — Up Stretch
Working on hip lift, centre connection and control.

Why do these things matter. Because when the basics are strong, the harder exercises feel far more achievable.

That’s one of the benefits of 1:1 sessions.

Each exercise has a reason.
Each session builds towards something.
And progress happens safely.

It’s not about throwing you into advanced work.
It’s about helping you get there when you are ready to progress.

If this sounds like something you’d like to work on why not try a 121 with me?
Xx

I used to plan every session.

Until I realised you can’t plan for the unexpected.

This week’s been a good reminder of that.

One of my regulars came in with a strapped wrist after a fall.
Aching, limited — and it was a duet, so two people with completely different needs.

Another had just climbed Scafell Pike and flared up an old ACL injury.
Everything needed adjusting.

I still plan — but loosely.
Clear direction, clear goals, a framework to work within.

But the session itself stays flexible.

Because real life walks through the door with you.
Injuries. Fatigue. Good days, off days.

And in that moment, the value isn’t in sticking to a plan —
it’s in knowing how to adapt it.

Quick assessment.
Clear decisions.
A session that’s shaped around you, not what was written down.

That’s the difference with private sessions. It’s not a standard programme.
Because you never walk in as the version I planned for. ❤️❤️
