Meet one of my lovely 75-year-old clients Peter who leads a seriously active life.

He plays golf a couple of times a week, does circuit training and regularly runs 5–10k.

Last year he added Pilates into the mix to work on posture, flexibility and breathing.

What I love most is that this isn’t just about what he can do now — it’s an investment in the future.

Every session is about staying strong and mobile for as long as possible.

His 121 is just one part of a much bigger picture: keeping his body working well so he can keep doing what he loves, not just now, but for years to come.

I love working with clients who want to keep progressing, whatever their age.

Because it’s never really about age — it’s about what you’re building your body for. 💪💪💪

A rarely available space has just opened up in the studio next Monday at 10.10am, as a couple of regular clients are away.

I can accommodate either a 121 or 221 session, with Reformer, Tower or a combination of both.

If you’ve been thinking about trying a private session, this would be a lovely opportunity to experience the studio and see how I work.

Message me if you’d like to take the space. ❤️

It’s not just about doing the exercise.

A big part of my job as a Pilates teacher is knowing what I’m looking for and when to step in with a cue.

This is one of the exercises from the rowing back series from the Reformer repertoire. It looks quite simple, but there’s a lot going on — posture, control, shoulder placement, breath and timing all need to work together.

I’m constantly watching and making small adjustments rather than just counting repetitions.

That’s one of the things I love about teaching privately. I can see exactly what each client needs and help them progress when they’re ready.

Good Pilates isn’t about rushing through the exercises.

It’s about learning to move well, then gradually making the work more challenging.

I’ve been catching up on one of the Associates classes, looking at Jo’s (Cobb) interpretation of some of the work Joseph Pilates taught back in the day.

It’s always good to put yourself back in the student position and be challenged by the work.

And this one definitely challenged me! 😂

Probably just as well this is a time lapse with no sound… the air was definitely blue! 🙈

In my holiday era 😎 but missing moving so I found this fab Pilates class by the beach today and persuaded Ella Fletcher to tag along.
If you’re in the Soto area and looking for a studio I’d highly recommend ALMA WELLNESS for weekly sessions on the beach. Next time we are here I’ll be visiting the studio too.

I work with clients of all levels and abilities here at my private Pilates studio in Bayford.

Today was a full day of teaching beginners, intermediate and advanced clients, and while every session looks different, the aim is always the same – helping each person progress safely and confidently.

I’m always encouraging my clients to move forward and challenge themselves, but only when they’re truly ready. Pilates isn’t about rushing to the next exercise; it’s about building the strength, control and understanding needed to get there.

Nicola is now working at an advanced level, and here she’s performing Control Front. It’s an exercise that demands strength, stability, control and precise timing.

This is one of the reasons I love the Pilates method. There is always another layer to explore, another skill to develop and another challenge to work towards, no matter how experienced you become.

If you love your Pilates but would like to reach the next level why not book in for a 121 session with me ❤️

Pilates doesn’t have to be all concentration and control. Sometimes it’s about letting go and having fun too.

After a structured warm-up and preparation phase, we spent 20 minutes on the jump board today.

The result?
❤️ Elevated heart rate
❤️ Challenged coordination
❤️ Stronger body
❤️ Bigger smile all round

Because movement you enjoy is movement you’ll keep doing. ❤️

I train 4–5 times a week and not one session looks the same.

Some days I do Pilates. Some days I lift weights. Some days I work with my PT. And most days I walk my two dogs in the fresh air.

I encourage my clients to do the same.

Your Pilates sessions shouldn’t compete with the rest of your training — they should support it. Helping you move better, recover better, feel stronger and stay more connected to your body through all the other things you enjoy doing.

If you’d like to find out how private Pilates sessions can support your other fitness routines, feel free to contact me for a chat. 💪🏻❤️
