CLIENT SPOTLIGHT

Meet Kineta -

Kineta started with me a few months ago. She has boxed before in London but had moved back to Hertfordshire recently, so wanted to train closer to home

Kineta does one 1on1 sessions per week and has done 8 sessions with me to date. Kineta has already improved massively during our time working together πŸ‘Š

We have been focussing on the basics and just tidying everything up πŸ₯Š

It's been great training you Kineta. You're very coachable and always give it your all πŸ‘

I look forward to seeing you develop your skills over the coming months πŸ‘Š

Meet Kat -

Kat is leaving us in a few weeks to start a new life down under

It's been brilliant coaching you on and off over the last few years. If it wasn't for your operation, I know you'd have been training every week without fail

Wishing you all the best in Australia and hope to see you again before you leave, but if I don't, it's been a pleasure πŸ‘Š

CLIENT SPOTLIGHT

Meet Ben -

Ben has been with me for about a year now. He had never boxed before.

He did 1on1 sessions for about 6-months and then I partnered him up with Andy, who he has trained with ever since.

Ben has progressed really well, especially since working with Andy.

They both really get stuck in and you can see the development week on weekdays.

I also have other more experienced guys jump in with them when they're around and have a few minutes spare.

It's during these sessions that Ben & Andy really excel. Going with people of a much higher level really has brought them along quickly.

Ben has really fallen in love with boxing and if he sticks with it, I have no doubt he'll end up being a decent level boxer, for someone that does it purely as a hobby.

Well done mate. You're easy to coach and I think you now realise how far you've come in such a short time period πŸ€πŸ‘Š

Stick at it mate πŸ₯Š

CLIENT SPOTLIGHT

Meet Callan -

Callan has been training with me for about 6-years on and off

I trained his friend George initially and then Callan joined him and they did 2on1 sessions moving forward

Callan was training for a fight just before Covid, but the fight was cancelled last minute due to lockdowns

It's hard to believe but the fight was re-arranged a further three times and cancelled days before, on each occasion

Then finally after the lockdowns had finished, he was training for a confirmed fight date, only to break his finger during training (not with me, with the other club he was training at)

So five times his fights were cancelled!!

Callan then went travelling for a while across Asia, and once he returned, he finally had a fight and stopped his opponent in round two

Callan is probably one of the top five I coach. I have a few people all around the same level. All been boxing circa 5-years, and all roughly on par with eachother

Callan is super composed no matter who he's sparring. He's deceptively quick with his counters. He boxes in Philly shell and it really works for him. He's probably top two I coach defensively

Well done for sticking at it mate. You're very easy to coach with a great attitude towards boxing

Stick at it mate πŸ‘Š

CLIENT SPOTLIGHT

Meet Matt -

Matt started with me mid 2024. He initially was going to start doing 2on1 with his friend but ended up doing 1on1 with me

Matt had never boxed before but had always had an interest in boxing

We started 1on1 once a week and quite soon I moved Matt to 2on1

He then increased his sessions to three 2on1 a week, but more recently dropped to two 2on1 a week

He usually trains on a Monday with .mark and a Friday with

Matt occasionally jumps in other peoples sessions too, just to get some extra work in

As you can see from this photo (which isn't Photoshopped πŸ˜‚), Matt is tall...very tall

We have worked to make sure he gets the best out of his assets; his height and reach

Matt has developed really well since starting with me and now can spar all of my guys and holds his own

Matt has been great to train and is one of many that has absolutely fallen in love with the sport. He's always coming to me with questions and advice and often shows me videos of fights that he's been watching on YouTube to discuss different styles of boxers

Keep it up mate, give it another year or so and you'll be a real handful for almost everyone πŸ‘Š

CLIENT SPOTLIGHT

Meet Jesse -

Jesse has been with me over a year now. He had never boxed before and wanted to learn and eventually be able to spar but doesn't want to fight

We started off 1on1 and then added a small joint session, so twice a week

Then later we dropped the 1on1 completely and now Jesse does one small group and one session with

Jesse has moved on loads since doing the joint sessions and has now sparred pretty much all my guys at some point

It isn't hard sparring, it's light to medium tech sparring, working on certain things and learning. There is absolutely zero benefit in Jesse hard sparring if he isn't going to fight

Jesse has really surprised me, as he's had a few tough spars with where he was definitely out of his depth, but he didn't moan once and just got on with it, and ever since then I have seen a change in him

He just doesn't care anymore, which is 100% the right attitude. He just gets on with it, and if the person he is sparring is better (more experienced) than him, then so be it. He doesn't get the hump, he treats it for what it is

That's the right attitude when sparring. If the other person is better, guess what, you come off worse. But as long as you know that going into it, it shouldn't bother you. You're not competing against your sparring partner, you're simply trying to improve yourself. And that's exactly what Jesse does

Your sparring partner isn't an opponent, he's your "partner". The clue is in the name. You're there to bring each other on. This isn't pro boxing where being ultra competitive matters. This is a few guys doing a hobby once or twice a week, nothing more

Great work Jesse, as with everyone, you're a pleasure to work with πŸ€πŸ‘Š
