The weather stayed dry for this week’s Sunday club run, a lovely ride out to Takely and back.

10 riders out despite the holiday season season and some riders off riding the Herts 100 sportive. A great ride, lots of chat whilst cycling through the Herts and Essex countryside.

The North Road cycling club is one of the oldest clubs in the country, founded in 1885. We run various activities including time trials, social activities and group rides both during the week and at the weekend. So whether you're new to cycling, or wanting to ride with a group, or looking to get into time trialing, cyclocross, or racing, come along and enjoy the ride!

The main rides we organise are below - please contact the club and we can provide more details:

🗓️ Sunday club runs - social ride at a pace of c. 16 mph (25 km/h)
🚴 A's - fast paced, c. 18 mph (30 km/h)
☕️ B's - medium-paced, c. 17 mph (27km/h)
😎 Saturday Social - slower-paced, c. 16 mph (25 km/h)
🌅 Weekday rides - morning social rides

Another hot night - in terms of both temperature and speed - in round 15 of the club’s Ken Davis Salver 10 mile Time Trial events.

NRCC Hardriders winners and brief report

Teenage prodigy Leon Atkins of 258 Protege blasted round the Hardriders in a blistering time of 56:41, just 5 seconds short of the course record set by Wouter Sybrandy in 2012 and faster than Chris Boardman who was first to go under the hour in 1991.
