The Challengers Hereford Cricket Club, newly registered under Hereford Cricket, have made history in their inaugural campaign by lifting the Worcester County League Division 9 title. Their debut season has been nothing short of remarkable, combining talent, determination, and team spirit to etch their name into the record books.
From the outset, Challengers Hereford CC signaled their intent. A squad built with highly skilled cricketers, they quickly established themselves as one of the strongest sides in the competition, first making headlines by topping their group. That success set up a mouthwatering Division 9 Final clash against a strong Worcester Amigos CC.
The Final Showdown – 13 September 2025
Challengers Hereford CC won the toss and chose to bowl first – a decision that proved decisive. The bowling attack showcased exceptional rhythm and discipline, with Dencil Das producing a magical spell of bowling to claim 6 wickets, while Clinton Jose backed him superbly with 3 wickets. Together, they dismantled the opposition, restricting Worcester Amigos CC to just 89 runs.
Chasing 89, the Challengers’ batters came out with intent, scoring briskly despite losing wickets at regular intervals. Holding their nerve under pressure, they reached the target in just 10.3 overs, finishing on 93/7 to seal a 3-wicket victory.
Champions in Their First Season
The win crowned Challengers Hereford CC as Division 9 champions in their very first year of competition – an extraordinary achievement that highlights the team’s hunger and potential.

Chairman Babu Thomas shared that the club is already planning to field another team next season, along with efforts to secure better facilities and training opportunities for players as they look to build on their dream debut.
