🥋 A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who took part in yesterday’s Club Competition! 🥋
For many of our participants, this was their first ever experience of competition — and you all did brilliantly!
While competitions are obviously an opportunity to develop skills and techniques, this style of Interclub is about so much more. It’s about building confidence, challenging yourself and having a go
And judging by the smiles yesterday, it certainly did that!
Some of you surprised yourselves with what you achieved. A few may have been disappointed not to come away with a medal — but remember, every single competitor who was brave enough to step onto those mats and give it a try has already achieved something incredible
You will all have learned something from yesterday’s experience — something that will continue to help you grow, not only as Martial Artists and students, but as individuals too
As coaches, we are extremely proud of every single one of you — and we know your parents are too. But most importantly, you should be proud of yourselves for doing something that many people simply wouldn’t have the courage to do
🥋 A huge well done to our Assistant Coaches, Junior Leaders & Helper's too!
For many of them, yesterday was their first experience of lead reffing, running and helping organise an event of this size
That’s daunting. It’s mentally tiring. There’s a lot of pressure on their shoulders — and they all did a fantastic job! 👏
Every time they put themselves into these roles, they continue to build their confidence, develop their understanding of the sport from a different perspective and further their development as Martial Artists
Hopefully, yesterday’s Interclub has inspired some of you who were watching from the sidelines to give the next one a try!
Because whether you win or lose, putting ourselves into uncomfortable or pressurised — but controlled and supportive — situations helps us develop valuable skills that extend far beyond the mats
☯️ Confidence
☯️ Resilience
☯️ Focus
☯️ Teamwork
☯️ Perseverance
And finally, a massive thank you to everyone who came along to support and cheer on our students
To those who encouraged the nervous competitors, helped the little ones with their kit, offered reassurance when someone felt overwhelmed, dried tears of disappointment, celebrated successes and simply made sure everyone felt supported — thank you
This is what being part of a team is all about
Well done everyone. You should all be incredibly proud of yourselves🥋
