Client Dave aka dynamite Dave!

"A few years ago this wasn't even a pipe dream "

A rollercoaster of a ride from almost 10 stone heavier, ACL reconstruction and cartilage removal in his one knee after years of struggling to even walk without falling over...has completed his goal of finishing a marathon!

Not only did he say to me after he hasn't ruled another one out. But he is hungry for more speed. Not bad for an "old man " (his words)

Dave accomplished this by training for strength in the gym through weight training and running 2-4 times a week depending on his busy schedule. And still he had time for quiz night.

Good job Dave.

new year same old me. mission get whambam strong in the squat, then we press on towards oly lifts and more.. it's not spectacularly amazing to watch but this is all it is.

*Bench press bail without a spotter*

Just like the barbell back squat, people get in their own heads and generally underload the bar with weight they can do as they're fearful of the bar suffocating them.

This could potentially be losing you valuable progress in the gym.
If you're pushing that little bit more weight you'll start to notice it and potentially not plateau .

Be mindful of not clipping the bars though. as if you're off centre the weight could fly off.
To counter this , sort out any imbalances and make sure you're not wonky.

If you're still too fearful to up the weight. Add in variations, pauses. Tempo, half reps etc etc..
