⚽️ Junior Football Is Back! ⚽️

This weekend sees the return of junior football across the county, with the new season getting underway for the Herefordshire Junior Football League and Herefordshire Girls Football League.

A huge good luck to every junior team across Herefordshire as they begin their new season. Enjoy it, play with a smile, support each other and, most importantly, have fun! 👏⚽️

⚽ WEEKEND ROUND-UP ⚽

Another weekend of preparation for the new season, and this time we welcomed five teams from Kidderminster Harriers, with all of our HDC teams in action.

It was a real goal feast across the age groups, with plenty of attacking football and some very exciting games throughout the morning. 👏

Over at Greyhounds Rugby Club / Hereford City Sports, our U14s proved too strong for the opposition, coming away with a convincing 7-2 victory.

Our U15s were involved in an exciting, end-to-end battle that produced an incredible 13 goals, with Kidderminster eventually taking the spoils in a thrilling encounter. 🔥

Over at the HFA County Ground, our newly formed U12s found themselves 2-0 down at half-time despite having plenty of possession. The second half saw the breakthrough they were looking for, but Kidderminster managed to hold on and take the win.

That was followed by another goal-fest! Our U13s found themselves 5-0 down after just 20 minutes, but the boys showed fantastic character and refused to give up. They continued to play their football and fought their way back into the game. Unfortunately, time just ran out, with Kidderminster taking a narrow 8-7 victory in a hugely entertaining game. 👏⚽

The day finished with our U16s, who put in a dominant display while also experimenting with a few different positions. The changes proved successful, and the boys came away with a 4-1 victory. There were plenty more goals left out on the pitch, too!

Another really positive weekend of preparation, with plenty for our coaches to take away as we continue building towards the start of the season.

A big thank you to Kidderminster Harriers for making the trip and providing us with some excellent opposition across all five age groups.

⚽ Another weekend closer to the start of the season! ⚽

This weekend we welcome five teams from Kidderminster Harriers, who all compete in the JPL.

Another tough and testing group of fixtures for our HDC teams — and exactly the type of challenge we need as we build towards the new season. 💪

These games give the players the opportunity to test themselves against strong opposition, learn, compete and continue their development.

🎉 1,000 FOLLOWERS! 🎉

As we move into our 3rd year, we continue to grow, and reaching 1,000 followers on social media is another fantastic milestone for the HDC!

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way. Your continued support allows us to keep developing, growing and, most importantly, giving young players the opportunity to develop their game and progress to the next level.

It’s already fantastic to see so many HDC players moving on and playing the game they love at the next level. We’re incredibly fortunate here in Hereford to have some outstanding senior clubs and U18 setups where players can continue their journey beyond U16.

When we started three years ago, our aim was to create a fully sustainable development centre, with a clear focus on player development and laying the foundations for that all-important next step after U16. Seeing players progress is what makes it all worthwhile. 🙌

We also want to say a massive thank you to all of our sponsors. Your generosity and support help us continue to move forward and provide the best possible opportunities for our players.

Another weekend of action for our teams as we continue preparing for the start of the new season.

Things didn’t quite go to the original plan, with two teams pulling out at the last minute. Rather than waste the opportunity, our U12s and U13s went head-to-head, and it proved to be a fantastic developmental opportunity for both groups. Both teams got valuable minutes in their legs, worked on new things, and benefited from both sets of coaches sharing their knowledge, guidance and experience.

Our U15s had another hard-fought game against Bridgnorth, with some more outstanding individual and team performances on display. Another valuable game under their belts as they continue to build towards the start of the new season.

Our U14s and U16s didn’t feature this weekend, but all of our teams will be back in action next weekend when we welcome Kidderminster, who will be bringing along their teams competing in the JPL.

Great to see no fewer than nine players who have either come through the HDC or are currently at the HDC representing Hereford FC U18s this week! 👏⚽

It’s fantastic to see so many players who have come through the HDC continuing their footballing journey and representing Hereford FC at U18 level.

Well done to everyone involved at Hereford FC U18s, and we look forward to watching your season progress. 🙌

Under-18s bounce back from season-opening defeat in style

Another weekend down as we continue our preparations for the new season.

With the start of the MJPL fast approaching, our teams continue to test themselves, work on new things and, most importantly, keep building together.

This weekend, our teams once again faced strong opposition away from the MJPL. Our U12s, U14s and U16s enjoyed excellent games against Bishops Cleeve, who compete in the JPL, while our U15s travelled to Merthyr Town for another strong test.

Our U13s complete this weekend’s fixtures tonight, with a home game against Bishops Cleeve.

A Proud Moment at HDC 🖤⚽🤍

We would like to acknowledge the outstanding achievement of one of our players who has come through the age groups at HDC.

At just 16 years old, Harry has enjoyed some valuable first-team action for Hereford FC throughout pre-season — a truly momentous achievement for this young lad. 👏

After finishing last season with our U16s, Harry quickly moved on to the next level in his footballing journey. At just 15, he was already making a name for himself, representing the Hereford U18s in the Midland Floodlit League, while also playing Saturday football with the HDC in the MJPL.

Now, with the National League season underway, we are incredibly proud to see Harry’s name on the Hereford FC team sheet. To see a player who has progressed through our age groups taking that next step is something everyone at HDC can be immensely proud of.

There is a lot of talk across football about pathways, but pathways are something that should always be there. It’s about creating the right foundations, supporting players through every stage of their development, and ensuring they have multiple avenues to succeed — whatever level they ultimately wish to pursue.

Harry is a fantastic example of what can be achieved with hard work, dedication, commitment and the right opportunities.

Keep working hard, Harry — this is just the beginning! 🖤👏⚽
