Cupids Hill was founded in 1979 by a group of young farmers, mostly brothers from two neighbouring farms. In 1982 they started going to more 3As competitions and won the Welsh second division and in 1983 won silver in the 560kg competition at the Welsh Championships, followed by the gold in 1984 and began their international career with a trip to the United States of America at the World Championships. Nowadays Cupids Hill welcome all ages and abilities and run Youth& Ladies teams as well as a Mens team. We have greatly improved the training ground over recent years and can now train in all weathers. Last year our Youth team won the Welsh Championship and represented Wales in the UK Championships where they clinched the Gold medal they then went on to compete at the World Championships in Belfast where they finished 6th. Our Mens and Ladies teams also had a successful season and competed internationally. Tug Of War is a great sport so come and try it, over the years this club has competed in many countries including U.S.A , Spain, Switzerland, Holland, Ireland,Sweden, Scotland England and Wales and competed against these Countries as well as competeing against Australia, Belgium, South Africa, Italy, China, Germany, Canada etc, etc. You only get out of sport what you put in so come and give it a go!
