Broadway Walsall Tournament
Today I took two sides (U9 and U10 playing u11) over to Walsall to compete in the Broadway Tournament.
What a day we had!
The 9s (slide two) battled all day led by Coach Laura and picked up some fantastic results along the way. Qualifying for the knockout phase in 3rd out of 9 teams. The girls faced the unbeaten DMC. After an end to end final DMC took the spoils in the final minute to win the semi-final 2-1. Some great football throughout from the under 9s who all showcased their abilities throughout the day.
Onto the 10s who finished 2nd out of 9 to ready the semi finals only conceding twice in their 7 qualifying matches. After a tense semi-final it was down to penalties where Ariana made two important stops to take us through to the final.
Onto the final vs Walsall Wood another end to end match with some great battles all the way through. With minutes to go Alice got the ball out of her feet and unleashed a strike straight into the top corner a goal deserving of any cup final.
The girls were able to hold out and claim victory after some superb football across the 9 matches they played in the day.
Captain Poppy was presented with the trophy and HBC were crowed u11 champions!!
What a fantastic day for both sides and topped off by a win for the 10s playing a year up!
